A filter feature would be great! Especially to have filtering capabilities by location. Our job board visitors keep asking about being able to filter by location and remote work.
Thatās a great addition, many thanks for sharing, @user3055!
Weāll try to consider your ideas when start working on this feature, Iāll make sure to keep you updated here
Thank you for your help and welcome to the community! Weāre happy to have you join
Hello! Any update on this? It really is a function that is needed to make this a great functionality. Looks like itās been āin the worksā for a few years now!
Many thanks for your comment, @Elsa_Schneider, and welcome to the community!
Itās true that we made an attempt to start working on this feature, but we had to put in on pause due to some unexpected urgent matters, Iām really sorry about it
This request has been included into 2023 roadmap, and I do hope we will release it during the year. I understand the timeline is somewhat vague, but this is the current status of this feature, Iām afraid.
Iāll make sure to keep you in the loop, though!
Definitely in need of a filter system.
If you include a customisable filtration system to this widget it could be super powerful in more ways than one. It could actually be duplicated into a whole new widget for displaying products by filter which would be SUPER popular.
I was actually thinking about using it to filter through models e.g. blue eyes, brown hair, 152 tall.
It would be great if we could add tags to each ājobā (or in my case āmodelā). Then customize the filters to whatever name we choose e.g. Location, Hair colour, Eye colour, Height, Weight etc
@Angelo I guess I see your point, thanks a lot for sharing your use case!
So youād want to use the widget as a builder, so to speak, to get the result based on the picked filters, is it right?
I hope weāll take it under consideration
Yes exactly, super powerful and could be used for so many different purposes.
Was the filter option created? How about just searching the job board ex search developer and all the positions with that job title show up? Thank you!
Greetings @user1225
Unfortunately, the feature hasnāt been released yet, but we do have plans to release it in one of our future updates. Once any news come up, weāll share them in this thread
Many thanks for sharing your thoughts with us and yes, welcome to the Community!
Much as Iād love to share an update, unfortunately, we havenāt got any news on this feature yet. I am really sorry!
We do have plans to start working on the universal filter component this summer, however, itās really hard to specify when this option will be implemented into the Job Board app.
Once any news come up, weāll immediately update you in this thread
Many thanks for pointing us in this direction, thatās highly appreciated!
Welcome to the Community, @user16689
We already have a request for the filter options on the Wishlist. Iāve moved your comment to the related thread, where weāll share the news
Thank you for the feedback!
Still hoping for a filter option. A quick resolution on this will be the difference between me upgrading to a paid plan to support this widget and having to move away to a different jobs board solution. Donāt delay!
I moved over to Common Ninja because of their failure to introduce this
We are a recruitment company so filtering was crucial for our website users
That they couldnāt put a date on it (remember your SMART objectives folks) made me realise that it doesnāt have the same urgency for them as it does their customers.
Hello @user13219, @Sandra_Thomas1
Thank you so much for the feedback!
The thing is that we consider requests based on their complexity and number of votes they received. Although this request got significant interest from the users, we still have requests with the higher priority level, which our devs are focused on.
However, Iād like to assure you that weāre not going to abandon this idea. Iāve shared your feedback with the team and, hopefully, weāll be able to prioritize this request sooner, but itās hard to give any predictions now.
If anything changes, Iāll immediately update in this thread
Thanks a ton for pointing us in this direction!
What are those features that have had more votes because looking at ALL the requests i can see this is in the lead based on number of votes by a very long way
Hi @user13219

Iād like to assure you that we ourselves are interested in this feature and do have plans to consider it in the future. However, itās hard to share the timeline now.
As soon as we receive any news from the dev team, weāll update you here right away
Iām really annoyed at your response. As more people buy your product of course there will be more votes for some widgets and then others. But for the customers with a long standing request should also be honored! Itās disrespectful to the consumer to only progress on some instead of moving on most requests. Itās been YEARS (4)! Youāre lucky no one sued you for false advertisement. We renew thinking our requests would be honored and they are not. We have been patient. No customer should be lead on for 5+ years (thatās the route you are going). Next step is reporting this company to BBB and cancelling. Be fair & honest to your paying customers. If you canāt deliver say that you donāt have the compacity so your customers know when to go and come back when itās done. A lot of us are small businesses every dollar counts. Thatās what we ask.
Dear Patricia,
Thank you so much for the feedback!
I completely understand your frustration, and we are truly sorry that the feature youāre eagerly waiting for hasnāt been released yet
Iād like to assure you that the opinion of every user is very important to us, and we are doing our best to meet your expectations and enhance our apps.
Much as weād love to release features more frequently, unfortunately, our resources are not unlimited, and itās just impossible to implement every request.
At this stage, we need to evaluate both the popularity of the request and its technical complexity. To bring this idea to life, we first need to develop a universal filter component, which is quite complex task. Only after completing this step, weāll be able to integrate the filters into the Job Board. This is why itās hard to share the timeline for this feature.
Iāve brought this request to the attention of the dev team once again, and I will gladly update you here once any news comes up.
Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and pointing us in this direction!
The issue we have is that years ago, it was advertised that this already existed. The official response was an apology and assurance that this was being implemented to make things right. Fast forward 3+ years, and we are now hearing that honoring the false advertising and attempt to make things right is no longer a priority, as compared to the votes of others.
The ask was for transparency and fair expectations, not the runaround.
This is also not the first instance of empty promises from the Elfsight team to itās paying customers over the years.
