Custom form fields (Text field, Choice, Date, Time, etc)

Add custom questions and fields to the data collection form

Hey Max,

Would this feature request and this one Form Submission be the same as capturing basic customer details like name, email address, and phone number prior to the start of chat session?

This is the usual best practice flow I’ve seen being used.

With thanks,
mw

Form submission request implies the form with the standard set of fields (like Email, Name, Phone Number) that can’t be edited.

And in this request, we consider the opportunity to customize the form fields :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for the clarification. So does it mean that the Form Submission feature could/will be used as the “gate” prior to start the chat?

Please let me discuss it with the devs. I’ll get back to you once I have their response :slightly_smiling_face:

@iammasterweb In the first iteration, the form won’t be a required condition for starting the chat. However, you’ll be able to control when it’s sent: with the Welcome Message or after a 1st response :slightly_smiling_face:

Please add more form functionalities. I would like to be able to add open text fields, multiple choice questions, consent checkbox for terms and conditions, general information fields, anything that helps to get a lot more info from the customer in order to generate a good pricing offer.

We need more info fom the lead, more than just name, phone nr and email.

Hey there, @Leroy1 :waving_hand:

Thank you so much for the feedback! This is a nice suggestion, and we’ll try to think it over in the future, especially if it gets more votes :slightly_smiling_face:

By the way, the Consent field is already available in the widget:

Hi,

For the “Customer Information Collection Form” function, I would like to see additional form fields.

Currently, these three are predefined: name, phone number, or email address.

A date field and an additional text field (which can be individually named) would be useful. I would like to use it for entering a time.

This has the advantage that the chatbot would then be ready to accept appointment cancellations.

For this, I would only need the name, date, time, and most importantly, active confirmation to process the information correctly. Currently, I handle this with a contact form, and the bot provides a notification.

Perhaps this could also be combined with this project.

Hi there, @Sina :waving_hand:

Thank you for the feedback!

I am glad to say that we already have a request for the Custom form fields, and I’ve merged your comment with it.

Regarding the booking process, we already have some related requests. Feel free to upvote them

I know the chatbot currently has the ability to collect basic contact details, but it would be very helpful to have the option to create a form directly within the chatbot workflow or link to an existing form from the Form Builder widget.

This would allow businesses to collect more specific information based on the type of conversation or customer need. For example, if a customer is requesting a quote, the chatbot could direct them to a lead form with required project details. If the customer needs support or service assistance, the chatbot could provide a service request form with the appropriate product, order, issue, and contact fields.

This feature would help improve lead quality, reduce back-and-forth communication, and make it easier to organize submissions based on the customer’s intent. It would also allow businesses to customize the information they collect instead of relying only on general contact details.

Hi there, @user3104 :waving_hand:

Many thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!

I totally agree that a form with more custom field options would greatly enhance our app.

We already have a request for this feature on the Wishlist. I’ve moved your comment to the related thread, where we’ll keep you in the loop :slightly_smiling_face:
