AI Chatbot: Track chat history, leads, and performance right in dashboard! šŸš€

Keeping track of what happens inside your AI Chatbot is now much easier! :rocket:

Previously, the chat history and collected leads were available in the emails only. Now you can find the key data in one dedicated Results section right from your dashboard.

What’s new?

You can access the new Results section directly from your dashboard or from the configurator:

The Results section includes three areas:

Chats

See all conversations started with your AI Chatbot in one place.

Each chat includes a summary, making it easier to quickly review what visitors are asking about without going through every conversation manually:

Leads

Collected contacts are now separated from chat transcripts.

Previously, leads collected through the Collect Contacts skill were included together with conversation transcripts sent by email. Now you can view and manage all captured leads in a dedicated section:

Analytics

Get an overview of your chatbot performance with key metrics over time. You can track:

  • Chat sessions

  • Messages received

  • AI replies sent

  • AI-handled chat time

  • Leads collected

Choose a specific time period or view the overall performance to understand how your chatbot is being used:

We hope these new options make it easier to understand your chatbot activity and get more value from every conversation

What do you think about the new Results section? Share your feedback in the comments — we’d love to hear your thoughts! :raising_hands:

Great add, great work!

Suggestions:

  1. General:
    a. Reposition ā€˜Results" after ā€œInstallā€. See below. This is consistent with its position shown in another pane.
    b. Remove the ā€œKnowledge Gapā€ badge from the ā€œResultsā€ button (e.g., ā€œ9+ā€). See below. Not needed at this level. When the widget administrator clicks on ā€œResultsā€, he/she will see them on the next page. Also, this will make the dashboard look cleaner.
    c. Upgrade all existing search fields to a Universal Full-Text Search Field model. The upgrade will allow the use of Boolean operators and quotation marks, enabling users to isolate key words and conversation topics much faster. We have thousands of conversations to sift through. The current search fields’ functionality is too basic.

  2. Chats Section:
    a. Chat bubble color to display using the customer’s custom or theme color.
    b. Add the ability to email the chat conversation to the lead or customer requesting a copy.

  3. Analytics Section: Add the ability to view analytics in both bar chart and line chart formats. This is extremely helpful for identifying trends or gaps.

  4. Bug? When I click on ā€œResultsā€ and then on a chat conversation marked with a Knowledge Gap, the Knowledge Gap (Review gap) pane is blank. See below.

Hello Petar,

As always, thank you so much for taking time to share your thoughtful suggestions, we really appreciate it!

1a,b I’ve shared your feedback with the dev team for consideration. Thanks for sharing your thoughts

1c. this is a great idea and I’ve added it to the Wishlist. Feel free to upvote it: Enhanced search field for the Results section

2a. I am afraid I didn’t quite get this idea. Could you please specify where you’d like to display the chat bubble color?

2b. Do you want to automatically send the copy to all customers or only if they asked you to send a copy?

3. I really like this idea and also added it to the Wishlist. You can support it here: Display Analytics in Results section as charts

4. Just to clarify, have you previously resolved this gap or it didn’t show up at all?

Thank you, Max! Sorry, our paths crossed. Please review my suggestions again. I edited them. Perhaps you can adjust your feedback to match them?

In response: The visitor’s chat bubble (inside ā€œResultsā€) displays using Elfsight’s pink color. See my image. If not too difficult, simply use the customer’s custom or theme color instead for consistency. Not a biggie.

In response: If possible, add a ā€œEmail Chatā€ button inside each conversation pane (right side) that will allow the widget administrator to email the chat conversation on demand (upon the lead’s or visitor’s request), not automatically. Makes sense?

We marked the ā€œKnowledge Gapā€ as ā€œIgnoreā€ (a while ago). There’s definitely a bug with your ā€œKnowledge Gapā€ functionality. We have dispositioned all of our knowledge gaps, but they still appear in results. You’re welcome to visit our widget and check it out yourself. There should be no knowledge gap badges displayed at our end.

Got it, thanks for clarification!

I’ve added these ideas to the Wishlist as well:

Regarding the knowledge gap issue, this might be a cache, but I’ll check it with the devs. I’ll keep you updated :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi Petar,

Currently the Chats section shows all gaps even if they were resolved. However, we get that it might be causing confusion and we’ll try to think about adding a status for resolved gaps :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi Max,

Based on your latest feedback, here’s what I propose or would like to request:

  1. Short Term: A CSS rule or JS code that will allow us to disable or hide the Knowledge Gap badges and the Knowledge Gap functionality (two separate items). There should be no Knowledge Gap badge counts shown in our configurator dashboard knowing that we have reviewed and dispositioned all of them. I did that, but they still show up.

  2. Long Term: Add a toggle switch to the configurator that will allow widget administrators to disable the Knowledge Gap functionality. Honestly, at our end, we don’t need it. It’s currently acting as a persistent notification or reminder without providing useful, tangible solutions.

Got your point!

I’ve added this idea to the Wishlist. Feel free to upvote it: Disable Knowledge Gaps badge in Chats section (Results)

I am not sure if there is a custom solution to hide the gaps, but I’ll check it with the devs. I’ll keep you updated.

Thank you. If you ask me, displaying the knowledge gap badge (e.g., 9+) in our dashboard even though we have no unanswered/dispositioned knowledge gaps is a bug and should be fixed. There should no badges displayed when the widget administrator has dispositioned all knowledge gaps.

I believe it would be a strong selling point to offer clients a customizable white-label portal where they can securely access and review their own results.

Hello @Francisco_Javier_Ma1 :waving_hand:

Great idea! A white-label client portal is definitely something that would be valuable for agencies, and it’s something we’ve discussed before.

We don’t have any updates to share about an agency account/client portal at the moment.

However, you might be interested in a related feature for the AI Chatbot we’re currently working on — AI Chatbot Chat History to Email (white label). The idea is to let businesses share chatbot conversations with their clients in a more branded way, without Elfsight branding.

Please upvote this idea if you’d like to get notified about a release :slightly_smiling_face:

To share my feedback, while I do not oppose AI Chatbots, I would like to offer my opinion to say I believe they should be separate from more urgent customer service. I support tasks such as general chats, questions, and even learning skills, but I don’t support that they should replace more prioritized care. At least in my example, I am observing an increase in online systematic errors. Credits have not provided after the billing period of an AI service, additional charges have been made from another that I did not authorize, and there is no history of transactions in an account that I have been spending money on. So there are a lot of automated errors that are increasing online, but then there is also no way to contact an actual person. And in more urgent cases such as these, I don’t find AI chatbots to be the solution.

And of course, I am not preaching. I just wanted to share my input based on my experience.

Hello @Prevalent_Arts :waving_hand:

Fair point, and honestly that’s the line we’d draw too. AI chatbots for FAQs and general questions, humans for anything involving money or urgent issues.

Appreciate you sharing this, it’s a good reminder that escalation paths matter as much as the bot itself :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you for understanding.
