Register right in the widget

Register buttons allow for more registration options. Right now you can only add a link but would be good if registration was captured directly in the widget.

It would be great to have the option to activate/deactivate a “register/sign-in” function for an event.

Required fields as an organizer:

  • set a minimum/maximum number of registrations allowed
  • define required fields for a registration

Minimum necessary fields for a registration:

  • first name and surname
  • email address
  • phone number

If registration/sign-in is activated, the event should show what is the current booking (e.g. 10/25) in relation of signed-in votes to maximum capacity. When the maximum limit is reached, no further registration shall be possible anymore and and info box should be shown to the user that states something like “the max. number has been achieved”.

Hey there @user9767

Thanks a million for sharing the details of your use case!

Your ideas do sound like a great addition to the widget, I hope our devs will pay attention to them in our future updates.

We’ll keep you abreast of any changes in this thread :slightly_smiling_face:

It looks like the calendar has a “get tickets” button that comes up for an event. But the button instructions say it will send the visitor to a website, call up their email program or phone app. It doesn’t actually get the tickets for that event. My usage would be to sign up for a class, but not take payment. I would want the calendar to actually sign up for that class rather than send them to another website. Does your calendar have this functionality?

Hey there @stev_kan

This functionality isn’t supported yet, but we have such a request in the Wishlist. I’ve merged your comment with the dedicated topic, where we’ll keep you updated :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi there, @Jesseca_Shaw

If I got you right, you’d like to have an option to register for an event right in the widget (without redirecting to another page.

We already have such a request on the Wishlist, and I’ve moved your comment to a related thread, where we’ll keep you in the loop :slightly_smiling_face:

Good Morning Max.

Yes I am looking to create a registration widget to my GoDaddy website so that my clients can register for an event directly from my website.

I’ve explored through the widgets but for some reason I keep getting directed to the email request.

Hi @Jesseca_Shaw

Apologies for the delayed response!

The requests may come to your email, if you’ve set your email as a contact option for the event button:

As for the registration directly from the website, if this request gets more votes, we’ll try to consider this opportunity in the future :slightly_smiling_face:

Hello team,
I am looking for a widget (to be developed or existing) that would allow me to plan workshops and to propose them online on my site.
I know that there is the event calendar which I like and appreciate it a lot, but I am looking for this particularity:
As example, 4 people can participate at the same date and timing to a workshop. Users can register according to two criteria,

  • There is a workshop available at a specific date within a calendar
  • There is still available seats.

The idea would therefore be to be able to program a calendar with several workshops dates and that the users register themselves if there is still seats.

An indicator of the number of remaining places would be visible, for example, there are 2 places left…
If a user unsubscribes, this resets the counter and frees up a place. In Google calendar it is possible to propose appointments but each user can book at a different time, it is not possible to propose 4 places at the starting hours.
Do you have an idea or is there a solution like a “Workshop planner” widget?
Hope my request is clearly explained.
Kind regards

I completely got your idea, and we already have a similar request for the Event Calendar widget. I’ve moved your comment to the related discussion, where we’ll keep you in the loop :slightly_smiling_face:

Want to use the Booking feature for Distillery Tour tickets where we have a maximum number of people per tour, runs on certain days all year round and multiple times during those days.

Hey there, @Alina_Brickley and welcome to the Community

Thank you so much for the feedback!

I completely got your idea and need to say that our Event Calendar app is a better app for your use case.

While the functionality isn’t supported there now, we have a request for the direct registration from the widget with the opportunity to set maximum number of people (repeat events option is already available).

I’ve moved your comment to the related thread, where we’ll keep you in the loop :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you so much - can they pay directly from the Event Calendar app? I am working with that app currently to include other events that we host as one-offs or are going to attend.

Currently, this option isn’t supported, but we have a separate request for this. Feel free to upvote it  - Allow to purchase tickets
