I have been using Events Calendar for almost two years and I am very satisfied with it.
I have posted a suggestion several times to improve this widget, for example, allowing users to register for Event Calendar on the site where the widget is deployed. This could allow them to automatically receive an email each time a new event is added or updated in Event Calendar. After several months, I see that this request has not been taken up by the development teams. I completely understand that there are others priorities.
Furthermore, I am submitting this request which may already have a solution.
Imagine that 3 years of events have been loaded. Would it be possible to request that only 2 years be kept in order to lighten the widget and certainly also your server?
I imagine, for example, a feature that would allow specifying the number of months to keep online, and to perform an automatic backup of events exceeding the number of months to keep, rather than manually deleting each event one by one. This backup could then be saved on our own servers or disks.
What do you think about this?
Best regards,
Michel
Hi Max,
Thank you for your reply and suggestion.
I was aware about this feature but it’s not really what I tried to explain.
In fact I am wondering how to backup and then to delete the old events, not only to hide them via the feature you advise.
The aim is to take less space on your server.
Is that more clear?
Kind regards.
Michel
Max, can you ask the development team if they can provide an API or webhook to automatically notify me of new events in the event calendar? If they can provide this, I know a young geek who could develop a newsletter subscription button for me to notify me of each new event. He says he only needs an API or webhook. I admit I don’t understand much…
