Allow calendar viewers to subscribe to your calendar for all future updates by syncing to their iCal, Outlook or Google Calendar etc.
Use case scenario: events calendar on an education website, where parents can add the school events calendar to their calendar app without needing to keep coming back constantly to view upcoming events on the website.
@user2637 thanks a lot for sharing your idea and for all the details provided!
Am I right that you’d love to have a ‘Subscribe’ button which is supposed to notify subscribers about new events and add them to their calendars at the same time?
Yes so they can sync to their Google calendar or iCal - without having to come back and add an event to their calendar 1 by 1. Ideal for things like school calendars where there could be the centralised events calendar for the school and parents can subscribe to it so even if they miss checking details on the website, they have full school calendar details on hand at all times.
I love this idea, but it sounds not that easy, so I’m afraid we won’t be able to release it in the nearest updates. But I really hope we will consider it in the future, as it would be a great addition to the widget!
I know I’m looking for the feature to add all events at once/sync/subscribe to the calendar. Currently, even when I use the Add to Calendar function, it doesn’t realize the custom recurring options and therefore I have to do every single instance manually. I know what frequency to add, but I would like user to not miss the subsequent events because they added only the one.
It would be convenient for people who want to be able to subscribe or unsubscribe to the events calendar in order to automatically receive each new event added to Elfsight by the administrator to their personal calendar (Google Agenda, Microsoft, …).
This way, users would always be informed of new events without having to connect to the internet to consult the site.
Would it be possible to have a button to let users deciding to subscribe and/or unsubscribe to the Event Calendar?
As this feature already exists (to send event in our own agenda) one by one, don’t you think that it doesn’t require complicated development to make it for the whole events in one shot?
I honestly can’t see why you haven’t done this already - it should be a small change given the functionality is part there already. It’s 2024 and you are missing sales because simple subscribe to calendar features are still waiting to move off the waitlist to implementation - this should be an absolute GIVEN for any event calendar??
Hi @user2637, I’m really sorry for the frustration this delay in implementing the functionality is causing you.
The thing is, currently we have to prioritize requests based on their popularity and the complexity of development. We’re doing our best to provide timely updates for all our 90+ widgets, you can check out our Changelog and the latests updates there.
We truly appreciate your help and suggestions you leave here, we keep all them in mind, and I mean it. I really hope we’ll be able to find a way to speed up the rollout of new features so you can be fully satisfied with the widgets you’ve chosen.
I’d like to keep my users updated about new events (filtered by event types or venues) if the user has subscribed.
So that would be great if they could subscribe in widget for my updates and would be notified automatically
Dear all,
Any news regarding the feature which will allow users to subscribe from our websites with events created in Elfsight and thus receive directly in our calendars any new events added in Elfsight?
Obviously, it must be possible to unsubscribe.
We are several persons waiting for this new feature.
An update from your side will be very appreciated.
Kind regards
Michel
