Event Calendar: Cannot create reccuring events to show past February 2026

I am creating recurring events that happen monthly and am wondering if there is an issue that is preventing the events to show up on the calendar past February 2026.

Hi there, @Amy_F :waving_hand:

The thing is that the widget can display only 30 closest occurrences. For example, your Carousel Riders event started in September 2023 and in February 2026, it will be the 30th occurrence of this event:

Please let me know if this explains things or if you have any questions left :slightly_smiling_face:

OK. That makes sense. What if I duplicate the event so that it carries over the information, then change the dates, etc.? Is it still linking back to the original event creation date?

And is it best to create a “Custom” repeat with a “Repeat ends” date (like December 10, 2025) on this particular event that you are showing instead of the “Monthly on the second Wednesday”?

and what about my event for Young Riders 4-H Club with the start date of February 10, 2025? Why is it not appearing on the calendar in March 2026 and beyond?

But even if I create a brand new once a month event with the start date in December 2025 and repeat it, it is still only showing up in December, January and February.

Hi there, @Amy_F :waving_hand:

  1. Copied events are not linked to the original ones.

  2. It depends on your situation. The custom repeat option offers more flexibility, so if you’d like to set a specific end date for the repetitions, that’s the option you need.

  3. The widget currently shows only the closest upcoming event if there are more than 400 events in total (including both upcoming and past events). If you delete the copied “Young Riders 4-H Club” event, it will display just the next repetition in December.

If you want to display more repetitions, there are 2 ways to proceed:

  • You can delete some of the past events to reduce the total number of events to under 400.
  • Alternatively, we can increase the 400-event limit for you. This will allow the widget to show the next 30 occurrences, but keep in mind this could impact performance.

Let me know if you’d like to go with the second option, and we’ll take care of increasing the limit for you :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks Max! If I delete some of the past events, what is the best way to go about doing that? and is there a way to see all of my events as a whole rather than one by one in a column on the left hand side of my screen?

The only way to see all events is to scroll through the event list in the configurator. Past events are stored in a separate section:

You can either delete the past events you don’t need to show in the widget one by one, or delete all past events right away if you don’t need to show them anymore :slightly_smiling_face:

How can I tell how many total number of events I have? Is there a place I can see that?

and yes, please go ahead and increase the event limit.

Hi there, @Amy_F :waving_hand:

I’ve increased the limit from 400 to 700 events. You’ll see the changes in the editor, but to make them live on your website, please click on the Publish button.

The best option to check the number of events in your widget is to export them to CSV file, scroll through the list and see the total number:

As you can see, the total number of events in your widget is 557:

Please let me know if this explains things or if you have any questions left :slightly_smiling_face:

Excellent! Thank you very much! Once an event is deleted, is there a way to recover it?

Unfortunately, no. However, if you’ve previously exported the file with this event as a CSV, you can import all events from this CSV to your widget again :slightly_smiling_face:

OK. Thank you
