Wordpress plugin Event Calendar overwrites widget.css & bootstrap.js

Great fan of this plugin, but had to deinstall it due to messing up my page completely:
Adding the widget to my front page overwote some files my theme (Hestia from Theme Isle) uses and changed the complete CSS and HTML of my page.

Upon inspecting the page in Google Chrome Devtools could not load these two sources:
bootstrap.js.map
widget.css.map

The only thing left to do was te remove the widget from the page AND deinstalling the plugin in its total.

Would still love to use this plugin in the future, because it gives me exactly what I need, but this way it’s totally undoable for me.

Tips would be very welcome!
