Remove or reduce cache time

48 hours of updates on Instagram?
I hope you can change that for us because it’s not possible for most of our clients to have that…

Hi there, @Pierre_Rivalin

Thank you so much for the feedback!

We do realize that it would be amazing to reduce the cache time, but, unfortunately, it’s impossible to do this due to some technical restrictions.

Hopefully, we’ll be able to overcome this hindrance in the future. We’ll update you here in case of any changes :slightly_smiling_face:

Refresh Rate down from 48 hours to 6 hours maximum - better 1 hour Thank you!

Thank you so much for the feedback!

We already have this idea on the Wishlist. I’ve added your comment to the dedicated topic where we’ll keep you updated :slightly_smiling_face:

It would be great if content added on Instagram immediately (or sooner) showed up in the widget’s feed.

It would be great to have the ability to instantly refresh the feed in some cases where there may be an image that got in by mistake. You can give members 3 or 5 instant refreshes a month with the ability to buy more

Would be great if there would be an option to manually refresh the feed (can be limited), but more important would be that it’s not 48 hours, more ideal would be 24 hours or optimal around 10 hours.

Dear Max

In today’s era of high-speed internet connectivity, where private households have access to 10 Gbit/s connections, a 48-hour delay for cache updates seems like an unnecessary limitation. Given the technological advancements available, this feels like an artificial restriction that negatively impacts the user experience.

Additionally, I believe this should be clearly mentioned on the Elfsight homepage, as it is currently not displayed. Had I been aware of this limitation beforehand, I likely would not have signed up.

To work around this issue, I frequently remove and re-add my account manually to avoid the unnecessary waiting time—at least until I find a suitable alternative.

I hope this matter can be addressed soon. Looking forward to your response.

Best regards,
A Very Concerned User

Hello @WebAdmin1, and thanks a lot for your feedback!

You make a great point, and I’m really sorry we don’t currently have a solution for reducing the cache time. You’re also right that we don’t have clear information about this restriction — I’ll be sure to pass your comment on to the team for consideration. I agree, it would be fair to clarify this.

The main challenge is that implementing this would come with a high cost, which could significantly raise the subscription price. Since the current cache time is not an issue for the majority of our users, we strive to keep our prices as affordable as possible.

We’re still searching for a decent solution, and we’ll be happy to update you once we have any news.

Thank you for your comment once again!
