In accordance with the requirements of the GDPR, users are required to provide their express consent to the processing of their personal data via AI Chat before it is collected, stored or processed via AI Chat. This means that express consent from the user – a so-called “opt-in” – must be obtained before data is collected. This opt-in procedure requires the user to actively provide consent, which is often done by placing a checkmark next to a statement such as “Yes, I agree to the processing of my data…”. The GDPR sets out in Article 7 the specific requirements attached to such consent.
To meet these requirements, we need to enable an opt-in function for data collection in AI Chat. The ChatBot can then display a corresponding GDPR notice and obtain the customer’s explicit consent before collecting personal data. This ensures that data collection in AI Chat fully complies with data protection regulations.
