It would be great if back-end, pre-deployment testing did not use actual message credits. Can there not be a small free allocation for this purpose?

I totally get your point and agree that having the option to test widgets without limits would be fantastic. However, we need to strike a balance between keeping our widgets high-quality and affordable. Since every interaction with the bot comes with an additional cost, usage limits are just necessary now.
That said, we’re always working on making our apps better, and your feedback means a lot to us. If we have any news regarding the unlimited messages for testing purposes, we’ll be sure to update you right away

I did not suggest ‘unlimited testing messages’ though, but rather a ‘small free allocation’ for this purpose.
