Findings and Suggestions on Elfsight AI Chatbot Website

Hi Team,

Just trying to help make Elfsight better!

Findings and Suggestions:

  1. Your AI Chatbot website does not display (live) your AI Chatbot widget. To improve your conversion rates, I highly recommend adding it to your website as a demo for “public testing.”

  2. Your AI Chatbot website’s counters (and other page fields) are not working. I recommend revieiwng and updating your website to ensure it’s working properly.

See below for key findings.

I hope this helps!

Hi there, @AeroConsultants :waving_hand:

A huge thank you for bringing this to our attention!

I’ve just checked the AI Chatbot page and everything is working fine now. Most likely it was a local issue on your end:

Could you please check it once again and let me know if those issues still persist on your side?

Hey @Max,

Yeah, apologies. It was caused by my browser’s privacy settings (see below).

However, when I lifted them for elfsight.com, I was “shocked” when I saw the number of cookies that Elfsight dropped into my browser. So, I blocked elsight.com once again.

Your website is the ONLY one so far that far exceeds the number and/or type of cookies natively allowed by Google Chrome. I have had NO issues with all other reputable websites.

Cheers!

Hmm, I’ve just checked this page with the blocked third-party cookies and everything is working fine on my end:

Could you please specify the browser you’re using and share a screenshot of the Dev Console when opening this page with the blocked cookies?

As for the cookies dropped into your browser, I guess you’re talking about local storage records. . You can find them by opening the Developer Console (Ctrl + Shift + I or Command + Option + I ) → Application tab → Local Storage:

While cookies and Local Storage are both used to store data on your device, they work differently. Cookies are typically sent to the server with each request, whereas data in Local Storage remains on the device and is not transmitted.

Please let me know if this clarifies things or if you have any questions left :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey @Max,

Not a biggie for me at this time. To assist, however, below please find my console errors. They are unique to Elfsight. At my end, Elfsight cookies will remain blocked.

Cheers!

Thanks! And what’s your browser?

Oops! Apologies. It happens with both Google Chrome and MS Edge. Previous screenshot is from Google Chrome, the one below is for MS Edge.

You should see the same results. Tested with all extensions disabled.

Cheers!

That’s really weird, but everything is working fine in Chrome and Edge on my end. Could you please additionally specify the exact versions of both browsers and I’ll pass it to the devs?

See below. Not a biggie. I can control the behavior at my end. However, the Console Errors could prove to be a good lead

Thanks! Our devs will look into this and I’ll update you once I have any news :slightly_smiling_face:

The issue you were experiencing isn’t related to the blocked 3rd party cookies.

However, the same issue is replicated if you enable the Don’t allow sites to save data on your device (not recommended) option here.

Google doesn’t recommend using this option since sites may stop working as designed:

If this option is enabled on your end, please try to disable it and everything will be working fine :slightly_smiling_face:
