AI Chatbot Views Increasing When Logged into Elfsight Account

I submitted a ticket for this issue, but haven’t heard back yet from Elfsight Support. Since this issue could be affecting many widget users, thought I’d post this topic. Here goes…

When logged into our Elfsight account and navigating our website (same browser), our AI Chatbot view count continues to increase.

Per your documentation, that should not be happening. I have disabled all cookie blockers, flushed cache, and double-checked our widget installation. Still, that is not helping.

Did something change at your end? I know Elfsight introduced several AI Chatbot features recently, so also wondering if that could be causing our issue (and for others as well).

Help appreciated. Thank you.

Hi there, @Petar_Dietrich :waving_hand:

This method may not stop your own views from being counted in Safari and Firefox due to their settings.

If you’re using Safari or Firefox, please check the guides:

In case you’re not using Safari or Firefox, please specify the browser where the issue occurs :folded_hands:

Thanks for that!

Unfortunately, our team is using Google Chrome Version 149.0.7827.115 (latest, as of today). In case you’re wondering, see below (cookies allowed).

Also, since your information is quite useful, it would be beneficial to update the documentation I referenced above.

Bottom line, I still need help.

Cheerio!

Got it, thanks!

I couldn’t replicate this issue using the same version of Chrome. Could you please send me a video screencast showing the issue?

As for adding the Safari and Firefox guides to the Help Center, they are already available in this article - Why I ran out of views while building my website - Elfsight Help Center

Hey @Max,

Thanks for that. Can you provide your Google Chrome Privacy Settings for Cookies, etc.

Meanwhile, I will test in Incognito Mode and send you a screencast if I cannot pinpoint the cause of my issue.

Cheerio!

No problem

Hey @Max,

That was very helpful, thank you!

Issue fixed. See below for the solution when blocking third-party cookies (which I recommend).

May I suggest updating your documentation to reflect the solution?

Cheers!

That’s great!

I’ve passed your feedback to the team, thanks for the update :slightly_smiling_face:
