AI Chatbot: [MAJOR UPDATE] Sitemap training, new language model and more! 🚀

The AI Chatbot widget is now even more advanced! Thanks to a new language model and other amazing enhancements, it’s smarter and more capable than ever :rocket:

What’s inside the update?

New language model

We’ve upgraded your widgets from the ChatGPT-4 mini to the new ChatGPT-5 mini!

This new model is smarter, more accurate, and better at following instructions, providing clearer and more thoughtful responses to your questions. However, it has a different structure and way of presenting information, so you might notice a few changes in how the bot responds and behaves.

If you prefer a different approach, you can easily adjust the bot’s behavior through the instructions.

If you’ve adjusted the instructions but still haven’t gotten the desired result, reach out to us! We’re here to help

Sitemap training

It’s finally here! Now, the widget automatically pulls up to 200 pages from your website’s URL during the initial widget setup.

Moreover, you can now see the content from these pages in the configurator, making training even easier:

Note: If your widget was created before the update, and you’d like to train it using a sitemap, the only option is to create a new widget from scratch.

We understand that being able to train with a sitemap beyond the initial setup would be really helpful. We’ve added this idea to our Wishlist, so feel free to upvote it if you’d like to see it released - Train with sitemap beyond initial setup

Message Output enhancements

We’ve improved the typing animation and fixed the way markup is handled, so you won’t see special markup symbols while typing.

We’ve also added smooth transitions between waiting, thinking, and typing states, and fixed how links are processed in messages

AI Agent Caption

Now you can easily add a caption right under your AI Agent name! Many users wanted to add the “Online” status to their chatbots, and now it’s possible to achieve using the Caption field:

Folks, did you like the enhancements? Don’t hesitate to share your thoughts in the comments – we’d love to hear from you

Hoe great! Loving the positivity and willingness to develop over at Elfsight! Really enjoying the products we’re using.

Fiddling around with creating a new chatbot I wasn’t yet able to get it to pull up a sitemap as shown in the post. Was using a mobile device. I’ll try it on desktop some other time.

Looking forward to automatic relearning of URL’s being added after this!

Hi there, @fcweesp.nl :waving_hand:

Thank you so much for the feedback!

The sitemap training is available only during the initial widget setup (in the “Create AI Agent” step):

When you enter your website URL, the widget automatically pulls all your website’s pages and uses this information as its knowledge base.

However, if you created the widget before the update or skipped this step during the initial setup and added the information manually, the sitemap training won’t be available in these cases.

The only option is to create a new widget now or duplicate the widget and train it from scratch. I am really sorry!

We understand that being able to train with a sitemap beyond the initial setup would be really helpful.

Yes, adding post setup sitemap scanning would be beneficial. I created a script to scrap our product sitemap, convert the result to a cleaned up text file, then added it to the chat bot. It would be helpful to include a tool that rescans the sitemap periodically, and adds changes, additions, and deletions to the LLM.

Hi there, @Salvatore_Salvia :waving_hand:

Thank you for the feedback!

Do you mean that any content edits on the website page or maybe new/deleted website pages should automatically be reflected in the knowledge base?

Very nice and a big step forward!
BUT: the AI agents are now incredibly slow?
Sometimes it takes over 30 sec …1 min to get the first response

Hi there, @Piero_Biasi1 :waving_hand:

Thank you so much for the feedback!

Could you please specify the name of your AI Chatbot widget, where you’ve noticed the slow response time? I’ll be happy to check it for you :slightly_smiling_face:

We’ve found the reason for the issue and our devs are already on it! I’ll keep you updated :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you for waiting, @Piero_Biasi1!

The issue has been resolved! Please check your widgets and let me know how they work :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks @Max & Team.

Great improvements. Looking forward to the new features in design and development stages too:

I hope this one below gets more votes to be selected for development, as it’s very important:

And, by build from scratch, it means duplicating a widget is not a workaround?

Kind regards,

Hi there, @Master_Web :waving_hand:

Many thanks for the feedback!

Yep, you can also duplicate the widget. The design settings in the copy will be the same as in the original widget, but the training process will be handled from scratch :slightly_smiling_face:

Great @Max

Then it’s really a non-issue for those with extra widget slots. Just duplicate and train it on the site map.

Though those without an extra slot would benefit from a similar simple workaround :man_technologist:t5:.
