Adding INstagram feed of a client's social media account

  • **Issue description:
Has anyone successfully navigated the Meta/Facebook integration for the social feed? What specific access do I need from my client to add their Instagram feed to the widget? They have business profiles on both Instagram and Facebook. If I’m added as an admin to the linked Facebook page, will that be sufficient?

Hi there, @Duane

Yep, the admin role is just what you need! I see that my colleague Nataly has already shared the steps for providing access to your client’s Meta account.

Just in case, I’ll duplicate them here :slightly_smiling_face:

To grant the necessary access for setting up the Social Feed widget, you can ask the user to follow these steps:

  1. Log in to their Meta Business Manager: should go to Meta Business Suite and log into their account.

  2. Navigate to Business Settings: On the left side menu, they need to click on Setting.

  3. Grant Permissions:

  • Under Users, select People.

  • Click Add and input the required email address. Make sure they assign you the Admin role to give you full access to connect the Instagram account to the widget.

  1. Connect Instagram Account: They’ll also need to ensure that their Instagram account is connected to the Facebook Business Manager. If they haven’t already done this, it’s necessary to link their Instagram to the Facebook Business Page.

Once they’ve completed these steps, you should receive an invitation at your email address to join their business portfolio. After accepting the invitation, you will be able to connect their Instagram account to the Social Feed widget.

Thanks! I’m following up to help others. I had to remove my previous Elfsight web and app connection from within my Facebook account settings, then reconnect. After that, I could see the Pages and accounts added since I first linked the Elfsight widget years ago.
