Add a counter for test messages in dashboard

Please add a counter of the test messages in the configurator. This would help us keep track of the limit.

Update:

This just occurred to me…

Instead of a fancy-looking counter in the User’s Account Dashboard, can you guys simply add a counter in the configurator for test messages as noted in the screenshot? It should be easy to implement!

Honestly, my request should not be considered as a Wishlist item, rather as a tool that will help your customers manage better the consumption of both free and paid messages.

Can you kindly consult your developers on this?

Thank you!

Hi there, @Petar_Dietrich

I’ve previously reached out to the devs regarding this suggestion suggestion and here’s what I’ve got.

Based on our observations, most AI Chatbot users comfortably stay within the limit for test messages, so they don’t really need to strictly track the number of messages used.

Given this, it’s not a top priority task at the moment. Due to the heave workload, our devs are currently focused on other more urgent tasks, this is why we won’t be able to implement this idea now.

However, we truly value feedback from all our users, and I completely understand your desire for a test message counter, especially considering how actively you’re exploring and testing the widget. This is why we’ve added this idea to the Wishlist for now.

If more users upvote this idea, we might prioritize it sooner, but it’s hard to make any predictions at this stage. We’ll update you here if anything changes :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you for understanding!

Hi @Max,

I completely understand and respect the decisions made by Team Elfsight regarding the roadmap.

However, I wanted to circle back on the need for a test message counter. As our developers continue to work through testing and troubleshooting, we are burning through our test message tokens much faster than anticipated. Without a way to track this usage, it has become difficult to manage our AI chatbot training, especially as you roll out new features.

Could you let me know how complex this feature would be to implement? Having even a basic counter would be a huge help for our team’s workflow.

Thanks so much for your support!

Hi @Petar_Dietrich :waving_hand:

Thank you for sharing more context on this.

I totally get your point that having a test message counter could make it much easier to manage testing and troubleshooting, especially while your team is actively working on the AI Chatbot setup and training.

At the moment, this request isn’t included in our roadmap yet, as it’s still quite new and hasn’t received many votes from the Community so far. Because of that, our team hasn’t had a chance to explore it in detail, so we can’t accurately comment on the complexity of implementing it just yet.

If the idea gets more support from other users, we’ll be happy to review it more closely and share any updates here as soon as we have news.
