Ability for visitors to leave a comment

I have reviewed your new Blog widget however the most important functionality isn’t there… Comments. Having a visitor the ability to leave a comment is critical. Please advise.

Hi @Robbie_Shipman

We couldn’t implement this feature in the first release, but we’ll try to consider this opportunity in the future updates :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @user14823

Do I understand right that you’ve chosen the Line Chat category by mistake and want to allow website visitors to comment the posts in your Blog widget?

Currently, this feature isn’t available in our app, but we already have this idea on the Wishlist.

I’ve moved your comment to a thread, where we’ll keep you updated :slightly_smiling_face:

Add comment section to Blog app posts with option to have comments and control them. That is, the ability to accept, edit or reject comment. Or, automatically leave post as is.

Thanks for your suggestion, @AWIE_EJEN_HARTANAH_K! Although this request doesn’t look like an easy one, I hope we’ll be able to consider this option in our future releases for the Blog widget

The Blog Widget is a solid option for those looking to post general updates or share occasional reflections. After carefully testing it, however, I’ve found that it doesn’t quite support the level of blogging functionality I need.

Because blogging is a central feature of my site—where I share expertise and provide educational content—there are several essential capabilities I rely on. These include each post having its own unique URL (slug) for cross-referencing, support for categories and tags to help readers search and filter content, and interactive features such as comments and, ideally, post ratings.

I look forward to these features being added in future updates—particularly tagging and individual post URLs—as they would make a significant difference. For now, the current format doesn’t meet my requirements, so I’ll need to explore alternative options that provide this functionality.

That said, the Blog Widget is a great starting point, and I’m hopeful it will continue to evolve. Given I have a google site, highly functional widgets are essential Elfsight’s widgets are excellent overall.

Hi there, @Victoria_Hansen :waving_hand:

Thanks a bunch for sharing your thoughts with us!

I’d like to mention that tags feature and individual post slugs are already available in the widget:

The idea to rate posts sounds interesting. Could you please describe your vision of the rating scale for posts?
