Hi there @Leta_Teknoloji_Ltd_S

Currently, Comments widget isn’t released yet, but we’ll try to consider its implementation in the future. All the updates will be posted here.

By the way, could you please describe how you are going to use this app? This info would be really helpful for us

Hi Leta, the Comments widget is one of the most requested on the site. Unfortunately, this widget, along with the Forums widget uses a different system to create. What it looks like to me, many of the widgets currently used have an email system. This means that something is submitted, sent back to Elfsights, and is then sent to the email address provided, or meant to update the widget currently on the site. But the Comments widget is different. You press the submit button, and it’s supposed to leave your Comment directly on the site. So it takes a completely different configuration, which once figured out, will take Elfsights to the next level of widgets. I’m sure they know that and will be working to make this widget available. Hang in there.

@Trainerw Mike, thanks a lot for your support! Yes, you’re absolutely right, although the Comments widget sounds rather easy to implement, it entails plenty of technical considerations. One of the most difficult questions is the data storage. We need to think about ensuring data security, managing large volumes of data efficiently, etc., keeping such a widget cost-effective and efficient.

I know that the devs keep this request (and the growing interest to this widget) in mind, and I’m myself rooting for its release soon

Question / Comment Responder would be a public display of comments to a website question or the previous comment. Website visitor can leave their comment directly on the website without having to use social media. This would be a great way to collect emails, names, or other information. A setting where comments can be anonymous.

This widget could be used on platforms that do not have traditional blogs. This widget would increase engagement.

Thoughts???

Hey @Robbie_Shipman, I’m afraid no concrete updates so far :disappointed:

We’re currently working on other new widgets, but I’ll be happy to let you know here if I have any updates :pray:t2:

Hi Elfsight, I came across this widget idea on your site about 18 months ago. At that time, the widget site said ā€œcoming soon.ā€ That was literally over 500 days ago. What is your definition of ā€œsoonā€? Then, because we need it now, a few days ago the site no longer said ā€œcoming soonā€ – which means it’s finally available, right? So I got all excited, signed up for an account, got approval to sign up for your most expensive package, only to find out that it’s STILL not available.

Now I’m searching through the comments on this page, and see that some of your users have been waiting four YEARS for this widget, and you’ve been promising ā€œcoming soonā€ that entire time?? You claim to have nearly three million clients. That means you have lots of money, and I’ve been around the tech world long long enough to know it wouldn’t take very much time or money to create this widget that your users have been waiting for. And the reason they are waiting for it is because you are promising them ā€œcoming soon.ā€

So I ask again, what is Elfsight’s definition of ā€œsoon.ā€ Maybe by 2026? 2030? One of your users commented back in 2022, ā€œJust please let us know if it’s not gonna happen.ā€ That was two years ago. So disingenuous of you as a company to continue to string your customers along with promises of ā€œcoming soon.ā€

It’s unfortunate that a company claiming to make millions of dollars per month is not willing to put a couple grand towards this simple project.

To anyone else in this thread, do you have alternative suggestions for a good comment widget, because it’s clear that Elfsight is never going to deliver what they’ve been promising for nearly half of a decade.

Good comment. I am here to try this service out for a few of my clients. I’m new here and looks like i’ll look elsewhere. Common Ninja or others with better response times. I noticed there haven’t been any updates for a while. The most asked widgets are the comments, blogs, currency converter, etc. I think the community leaders are robo responders.

Hi @Dave_Neeley, thank you for your feedback. First of all, we’re truly sorry for the frustration this has caused. We acknowledge that ā€œComing Soonā€ may not have been the most appropriate term, which is why we recently updated it to something more accurate. Rest assured, we’re not trying to mislead our customers with promises of ā€œcoming soon.ā€

I want to mention that we receive hundreds of requests for different widgets and features, and now we have to prioritize the most popular ones. You can check out our Changelog category to see that we roll out new features, updates and widgets regularly: Changelog - Elfsight Community.

As for the Comments widget, the good news is that it is on our roadmap for this year, and we plan to start working on it this fall.

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

I’m very sorry that you’ve had such impressions about our service and community forum, @Robbie_Shipman.

This forum is definitely for you to share your opinions and thoughts, and we’re always happy to hear from our customers. We’re doing our best to get back to you either here or in support tickets as soon as we can, and we always strive to find the best solution. The reason for a delayed response might be in different time zones, but we always make sure to reply to every topic and comment we get here.

Blog widget is going to be released very soon, it is in our ā€œIn Progressā€ status now, as well as many other features: Topics tagged In-Progress.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hello Helga, Thanks for your reply. I spent a little time looking at other platforms and thought you should take a look at CommonNinja. There is a comments and also a image voting widgets. These are two that I have requested. Maybe if you look at it the team can get something like this.
