Store Locator doesn't work in configurator

  • Issue description:
    The widget was working fine until early yesterday. Then it stopped loading on the website. I can’t see it on editor mode or on the live website. I checked on the editor in Elsight and it is also not loading. (It isn’t a “map” missing as another user reported. It’s the whole widget. (no locations list, no search bar, no frame… just nothing loading).

  • Seems to only be an issue in CHROME browser. (Using Firefox (or my iPhone/iPad can’t replicate the issue).

  • Link to the page with the widget in question: Built in Florida. Ready for Anywhere. — The Guys With Drills

    This is Chrome:

  • Firefox loads fine though: (won’t let me add more than one screenshot though as I’m new at this).

    Editor also not loading (won’t let me add more than one screenshot though as I’m new at this).

Anyone else experiencing this?

@Max ?

I should clarify. This is NOT a new implementation. I had this widget working just fine earlier yesterday.

The ONLY changes I made was I added a secondary CTA (to a couple of the locations) with a custom SVG icon I uploaded and an external URL to my client’s website.

It stopped loading after that. BUT, I have 2 more store locator widgets configured on my account and NEITHER is loading on the editor. So it can’t be those 2 changes corrupting the data of that ONE implementation. If that makes sense. I just mention it in case those things broke the whole thing on your end? lol - Curious if anyone else’s store locator widget is working fine in Chrome browser.

And I should perhaps also note that when I do a hard refresh (Shift+Command+R on Mac), there’s a brief half a second where it appears as though it is trying to load the widget (you can see the locations list) and then it flickers and vanishes.

Disregard. I found the culprit!

After some major struggles with my Chrome using up 1.5GB of my memory and slowing my almost new, beefed-up MacBook Pro to a crawl, I went and played with some Chrome settings to improve performance.

In the process I ended up messing with: Settings > System > “Use Graphic acceleration when available” - (I toggled this OFF based on someone’s recommendation).

Widget loading fine now after I toggle that Chrome setting back ON.

Though I ended up just talking to myself before solving this (lol), I am leaving the whole thread for posterity in case someone ever runs into something similar and this might help them.
