I’d like to suggest to release a self-hosted version of this great widget. Pulling in external ressources is not a great thing in terms of SEO / loading times / lack of control. This self-hosted version should have a caching function and update interval that can be defined by the administrator

This could be achieved using the same feature I suggested for embedding widgets in email… by using an HTML to Image module to regularly overwrite a hosted image of the widget. More detail at the original post: Add widget to an email - #6 by Andrew_Cattarin
