Hi Max - thanks for the reply. My connection is rock solid and over 1MB in speed so it’s not that.
It keeps happening when I try to upload a bulk of files, I’m testing it with 82 files but it always gives me this message after getting to about 40% crashes and only loads around 30 images in.
I’ve consulted with our devs. The issue can be caused by long file names. We see that you have 10 files with names that go into ellipsis. File name limit is 256 symbols.
Could you please specify what is the number of symbols of your files with long names?
As a workaround, you can try to make the names shorter and try to upload them again.
Aha! Yes, the client’s naming protocols were very interesting indeed. Just tested with some files that were more uniformly named and all was well! Excellent thanks.
Just one request, any chance we can load a gallery with with either a.no placeholders or b. the ability to bulk delete files, as it’s going to become a pain having to delete all the elfsight ones every time we start a new gallery!
Just circling back here. The gallery still has awful problems when uploading more than around 30 files at once, it always crashes. Exactly the same message as before “check connection etc etc”.
I’m trying to upload 244 files at once, all filenames shorter than 256 symbols and total filesize is under 100MB.
It’s pretty impossible to use at the moment. Are you seeing this problem at all?
Sure thing - so these are the images I am uploading. 244 of them - all renamed by me to be sequential (for testing) and small wordcount. Total size combined: 68MB.
When uploading them all at once, they start loading in, gets to around 30 images uploaded and then I get the usual crash error message, every single time, in any gallery I’ve created.
On checking it loaded in images 1 - 17 and images 23 - 45.
So, upon further testing with a new gallery. This time it gave me the same error message as usual but loaded in numbers 1-12 14-18 20 22-29 33-36 and 40.
Tried again with another gallery - 1-4 8-11 14-18 20-32 34 37-38 44 49
So random, and yes, it does let me add the missing images in separately, one by one. It’s just a bulk upload that makes it crash.
