Hi, I have write this before, perhaps it can be combined with an existing widget?

Hi Max, Helga, you probably know about newstickers, a screen wide widget where news (titles) are shown. If there are multiple news messages they will appear one by one. Sometimes they appear from left to right or they can fly in vertically. So there must be an interface to set the styling so it matches the site/brand. Secondly you must be able to add, remove or manage messages. Thirdly, you must be able to add links so that people can click in the text of the message to jump to a certain page or post. Lastly, we have a news website and we would like that the news ticker contains our news items so that we can announce on the homepage an animated ticker with the titles of the news and a link to the article. This can be done with an RSS feed as it contains this info, per article. Here you can find some examples: Breaking News Ticker Examples . I think you have all these functionalities already build in other widget so itā€™s just a matter of combining them :wink: Looking forward to a newsticker widget, we could use it.

Hi, the newsticker, fed by an RSS feed is now here since almost 2 years I think. You have two widgets already, the RSS widget and the announcement bar. Itā€™s only a matter of combining these :slight_smile: Here are some examples: Breaking News Ticker Examples Just feed the announcement bar with entries from an RSS feed.

Yes, I believe I imagine this widget the same way, especially love the idea of adding links to the titles.

While, as you mentioned, we do have the RSS Feed widget that could serve as a basis for the News Ticker widget, itā€™s unfortunately not that simple. A new product is still a new product, and all the development stages, including design and technical implementation, need to be worked through.

Letā€™s hope weā€™ll be able to consider this widget idea sooner rather than later! Weā€™ll be happy to post here if we have any news :blush:

Hello.
I dont know if someone has sugguested this yet.
My sugguestion to the news widget is that since the Elfsight team now has a AI, you can use that to get accurate news, because the AI will not get news from 1 source, it will get news from every good source and combine it into 1 really good and accurate source.

We donā€™t want news from other sites. We want news from only our own site appearing in a newsticker at the top of our homepage. @Helga Iā€™m not talking about a new product, just an extension of the announcement bar where we want to show entries from our own RSS feed in the bar. Just add an option to use a feed to populate the bar. I know it involves some work but not the development of a new product as you have almst everythng in place.

I envision the News Ticker to look like you would see the scrolling text at the bottom of your TV screen while watching ESPN. Or a Stock Market ticker. Like for my company we would use it for what we call our Amazing Experiences, which happen when customers mention a specific team member.

Hello, everyone!
I came across this idea and thought it was fantastic! It would be a great tool to help highlight our news. In our case, we are a City Council and publish an average of 10 news articles per day, so being able to emphasize this contentā€”in a dynamic wayā€”would be really amazing. I donā€™t know if I have much to add, but I fully support the idea of a news ticker that can be fed by a CSV file or other methods, such as RSS. It would also be great if these news items were clickable, opening in a new tab or not. It would look great on the homepage and at the top of each published article.
