I think there’s a need for a newsticker which you can add at the top, bottom or inside content on a page. The newsticker can be populated by one or more RSS feeds. In this way we can promote urgent news or use it as advertising bar for our partners.

Hi Max, thanks for your reply. We use the RSS widget extensively on our site, mainly in sidebars.
