I was hoping for some editable features. Ability to remove google/facebook signin, and the ability for it to know the user’s name based on their access to the site (this is a long shot). The default names are a little quirky.
Hey, thanks for completing this! Unfortunately, it won’t work for my purposes. It’s hard enough to get people to log into my site, nevermind convincing them to log into google or facebook. I was hoping to use this to build a testimonials page, but I need the ability for users to be able to enter a name and/or email address, and the ability to select a rating would be awesome.
It’s true, the MVP version of the Comments widget is live, and I’m happy to hear such kind feedback from you
This is just the first iteration, and we’ll definitely be adding more features as we go. Just wanted to release the basic version in case it might be helpful for some users right away
We’ve opened a Wishlist section for this widget, and you’re most welcome to add your ideas and suggestions there. We’ll also add some ideas we think worth implementing in the future, so feel free to upvote them, too.
Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and insights! We truly appreciate your input
I’ve checked this feature in my test widget and everything is working fine. If the issue still persists on your end, please specify your widget ID. I’ll be happy to look into this for you
“MODERATION & CONTROL
Full control with built-in protection
Manage comments the way you want: approve, delete, restore, or invite moderators to help. Spam and bot protection is built in, keeping conversations clean and relevant without extra effort.”
I can’t find anywhere in the widget settings to do any of this?
Ah, I’m really sorry for the confusion caused by the information on the app page
We totally agree — moderation mode is an essential feature for a widget like Comments, and we wanted to include from the start. Unfortunately, the implementation turned out to be more complex than we initially expected, and adding it right away would have delayed the app’s launch significantly.
That’s why we decided to release the app without moderation mode for now. However, I’d like to assure you that we keep this idea in mind and have plans to revisit it in future updates.
As for now, you can delete user comments as an admin. For this, you just need to sign in with Google or Facebook:
