It would be a nice addition if the chat window could also appear as an embed on a web page, instead of just a chat icon to start the chat.

What does it take to get action on such things that are clearly in demand for very good reasons.
In your promotions at sign up the benefits include customization, and in this case embedding is a very useful feature, that only requires a few lines of code. This thread goes back over 1 year. It is quite disappointing. Why can’t embedding be included as an option. It is exponential in application.

We’d love to ship new features faster, but with so many requests on the Wishlist, we have to prioritize them based on their complexity and the number of votes.
You’re right, this idea has already gained some interest from the Community, but we still have a bunch of requests with a higher priority, and our devs are focused on those right now.
However, I’d like to assure you that we absolutely see the value of the Embed layout, and this idea is not being dropped. It’s tough to share a timeline at the moment, but the more votes it gets, the sooner we can move it up the list.
As soon as we have any updates, we’ll post them here right away.
