Can someone explain to me how the collab partner thing works? Can I place a widget with my partner on their website?

A collaborator is someone you invite to your account so they can work on your widget. This can be your client, a team member, or anyone else you’d like to share access with.
You can give collaborators access to your entire account or only to a specific project.
Thus, the collabs feature controls who can access and edit widgets in the Elfsight dashboard, but it doesn’t places widgets on the partner’s website,
