AI Chatbot: Make form completion required to continue chat

AI Chatbot just got a solid upgrade :rocket:

You can now require visitors to complete a contact form before the chat continues. To turn it on, go to Collect Contacts and enable Require before agent’s answer:


With this option enabled, the form pops up right before the assistant replies to a user’s message. Once the form is submitted, the chatbot picks up where it left off and answers the original question.

Hi @Max,

Great update! I’m sure many will benefit from it.

One thing though: Since many businesses (like ours) would like to capture “real” prospects when they fill out the form, does your form now also validate the email and phone fields?

If not, then based on our needs, the new feature will not help us much. Can Team Elfsight work on adding a validation feature for both the “Email” and “Phone” fields?

Unfortunately, the validation of the Email and Phone fields isn’t supported in our app now. The request for the email validation is already on the Wishlist - Email address validation.

As for the phone validation, I’ve added this request to the Wishlist on your behalf - Phone number validation.

We’ll keep tabs on these ideas and try to consider them, especially if more users upvote them :slightly_smiling_face:
