Hey Helga, Is this thread (the in-progress dev) covering the capability for our own clients to update individual widgets? The main for me and i should imagine many is the events widget, its super powerful but impossible to offer to all our clients as we can’t manage updating all of their events week to week. 100s.
@Mr_Uddr absolutely! We are working on providing the ability to share access to specific widgets so that your clients can manage only their own widgets
I know its difficult to say, but are we talking about getting this in shorter term or longer term?
Dave, I’ve consulted the team and the approximate timeline is June-July, but again it’s not a sure-fire info, unfortunately
I still believe we’ll manage to make it and release this feature sooner than later
This is helpful, thank you Helga!
Hey Helga, Would you have an update on the progression of this please, we’ve now over 250 clients and really really need to find a solution for sharing with them the capability to edit/add to their own widgets or find an in house solution i guess.
Many thanks Dave
Hey Dave, I guess I do have some news!
At the moment we’re finalizing all the info and the whole concept and planning to start the design part in a week or two.
The ETA for the release is the end of August
Hey Helga, Just a note on this feature, it will be important that when giving access to a client to update content of any given widget i.e updating their event calendar daily, that the admin i.e me can select which widgets they can access. The reason these widgets are helpful and used by us at least is that the clients (all 200+) of ours have no tech/design skills so can easily ruin parts of website if access to all widgets is given to some.
Just clarify our issue, if we can’t give all 200+ clients the event calender widget for example (we would if we could as most want it!) as it would be impossible to manage updating it for all of them as and when they all want changes.
Hi @Mr_Uddr
Many thanks for sharing your feedback with us!
I cannot but agree that this functionality would be of a great value. I’ve shared this idea with our devs and we’ll try to include it in our roadmap
@Mr_Uddr Dave, I’m really sorry, but I’m afraid it’s not something we can offer a solution for right now
I understand all the inconvenience, but we’re planning to resolve it in our upcoming release where you’ll be able to give partial access to the account. The release is due on August - September, so let’s hope I’ll come with awesome news sooner than later
Thank you for your understanding!
Just a quick update, folks: Unfortunately, we couldn’t introduce this option by September, and we sincerely apologize for the delay
But I assure you that it’s currently in the works, so we hope to release it in October.
Is it not possible that we can generate a URL that we can send clients that maybe has an expiration date of like 7 days on it and they can link their Facebook account? That way we can get permission without having to ask for their login information or for them to grant us Admin access to their Facebook page (as this can even cause issues)
Hi @Andrew_Fair
Thrilled to have you aboard! Welcome
I am afraid it’s impossible to do this via generated URL.
However, there is great news! At the moment, we are working on adding team member to your account. This feature will allow your customers to connect their account themselves.
I’ve moved your request to the dedicated thread. All the updates will be posted here
Many thanks for your comment and taking part in the life of our Community!
Hi Max, We’ve been tracking this Feature for some time and are very excited. I originally raised my own request sometime ago so can’t wait, but it’s really important though that we allow “clients” to edit there own widgets without being able to add/create/access our other clients widgets. Is this being covered off in this release?
Adding a “Team Member” is no big issue as you can simply pass on login deets, but giving a client access to their own suite of widgets is hugely helpful, we have 200 clients at the moment we cannot manage the “event calendar” widget for all on a weekly basis obviously so it prevents us using it at all. Does this make sense?
If by adding a team member we can add 200 and only give them access to particular widgets then thats fantastic, is this going to be the case
@Mr_Uddr Hi Dave, great to see the interest in this feature!
Yeah, it might seem that it’s no big deal to develop an option to share restricted access to your account, but there are a lot of difficulties on our way at the moment
The feature itself is not that easy, plus we’ve migrated to the new dashboard which is built on a completely different logic, which means we have to make numerous adjustments.
But! These facts do not stop us by any means, and I can assure you that the development is in full swing. It’s tough to give a precise timeline, but I can tell you this task is a top priority for us.
I’ve shared your comment with the team so that they see the interest in this feature, I’ll be happy to post here once I have any news
If would nice to be able to add an backend user for the calendar, so another person than the one with the login to alle Elfsights widgets could add events.
Hi @user4229
I cannot but agree that this option would be of a great value. Glad to let you know that we are actively working on this feature!
I’ve moved your request to the dedicated thread, where we’ll keep you informed about any progress
Your engagement in our Community means a lot to us - thank you so much for sharing your feedback!
I would be nice to be able to add additonal users who would be able to access the event calendar to create evcents.
