Add ability to request client's contact info during chat

As an example, the Elfsight chat says “Got it. Real quick, what’s your email address? We’ll use it for any follow-up messages.” Can we have that same capability?

Hi there, @BratPak_Dog_Kamp

Currently, it’s possible to send the contact form only right away or after the first response. However, this idea sounds great and we’ll try to think about it in the future :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you for your response. My concern with the immediate display is that it’s visible at the same time as the “quick reply” questions, which discourages the user from providing their contact info.

One other thing, I just tested the delayed display (after first response), and the bot provides an answer and then asks for the contact info (simultaneously). This defeats the point of trying to get their info before replying. With the current setup, it seems the only way to effectively request contact info is to NOT offer the “quick reply” options. There has to be a better way to use this feature. Maybe I’m missing it.

Your point totally makes sense, but, unfortunately, there is no way to change this behavior at the moment. I am really sorry!

We already have ideas to make a form completion required and display the quick replies only after the form completion. Feel free to upvote them:

If these idea gets more votes, we’ll try to consider them in the future updates :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes, it would be great to show the contact form not after the first response, but when it makes sense (the bot can not give information) or upon request from the user when being asked by the bot (would you like to leave your contact information?)
