Youtube Shorts displayed vertically

Hi Elfsight team,

I’ve created a YouTube gallery and would like it to display only YouTube Shorts.

At the moment, the player shows videos in landscape view, but I would like the player to show portrait view only, so that users see just the vertical format of Shorts (as shown in the area I circled in green in the attached screenshot).

Ideally, when a Short is played, it should appear inline and only show the vertical video area — without the black bars or surrounding elements.

Is there a way to achieve this?

Thanks in advance for your help!
Best regards,
Elodie

Hey there, @user16040 and welcome to the Community :waving_hand:

Yep, we have a solution that should work great for you -Vertical video display (like Shorts).

Please try it out and let me know if it helped

thanks!
It is not perfect as you can still see some shadows on each side, but it is better.
as well, is there anyway that you don’t have to double click on each for the video to start? you can see it on our website

thanks

Got it, thanks!

I’ve changed the max-width value in the code to 195 px, and now it’s fine:

I’ve saved this change in your widget, but haven’t published. To display it on your website, please click on the Publish button.

Regarding the double click, the thing is that firstly you click play button to open the iframe with the video. Since videos in iframes can’t be autoplayed, you have to click the Play button one more time and, unfortunately, there is no way to change this behavior.

Please let me know if this explains things or if you have any questions left :slightly_smiling_face:
