Time zone changes around the world

  • Issue description: I have setup a calendar for our community and chosen the time zone of the leader of the meeting to match where they live. However the time zones changes are not being properly calibrated to match what’s happening in the real world. Is there a fix for this or a way around this?

Hi there and welcome to the Community, @Jude_Wilkins :waving_hand:

I see that you’ve enabled the Events in Visitors Local Time Zone option and it’s working fine on my end.

For example, the event Kevin occurs on April 7, 7:30 p.m (GMT - 4:00):

My timezone is GMT+3:00, which means the difference with the original (your) time zone is 7 hours. Thus, if we add 7 hours to 19:30 p.m, we get April 8, 2:30 a.m:

Could you please double-check it?

If the issue still persists, please describe it in more detail and share a specific example with the incorrect time. I’ll be happy to look into this!

Hi Max,

Thank you so much for getting back to me.

I found it difficult to choose the right time zone for America as ET does not change seem to change with the right time zones. Gosh time zones is confusing lol. Your choice does not include EDT and EST. It would be good if the ET choice changed from EST to EDT. It would be much easier I think.

Thank you
Jude

Got it!

By default, the selected timezone automatically switches between standard time and daylight saving time. Today, in Auckland, there was a switch to winter time (standard time), so the time zone shows correctly as UTC+12:00:

However, if you create , for example, an event for October (during daylight saving time), it will display as UTC+13:00:

So, everything seems to be working fine now.

Please let me know if this clears things up or if you have any questions left :slightly_smiling_face:
