Setting a min or max length for fields

Let say if I want to allow users to enter only a number within this range 10-20, the number field is currently not able to achieve this validation functionality.

That makes sense, thanks a lot for sharing, @Bob4!

If other users also find this idea useful, there could be a good chance for our developers to consider adding this feature

I strongly second this addition of basic functionality. Currently building a form that takes in 30 separate number fields and without this constraint, it’s easy for the user to blow it up.

Ten categories, each has three number entries we need to be between 0-100.

Non-compliant entries like “45424425.2321321” will blow up the averages for both the individual submitter (who will be submitting the overall form on a regular basis) but also the aggregate values.

Please implement this!

Hi there @THRONE_DYNAMICS_RISK

We cannot but agree that it would be a really helpful addition. If more users support this idea, we’ll try to think about it in the future :slightly_smiling_face:

Many thanks for sharing your feedback with us and welcome to the Community!

We need it.

I agree this is must needed basic function.. having some way to validate the inputted data is correct.

also agree, i could use this right now for a project i’m working on where a user must submit a form with a short essay, minimum 250 characters, but with elfsight there’s no way to enforce it. or is there?

Hi there, @Doug :waving_hand:

Unfortunately, we don’t have a custom solution for this case. However, I agree that a chars limit option would be a great addition.

Let’s hope this idea gains more votes and the devs will be able to consider it in the future. We’ll keep you in the loop :slightly_smiling_face:
