Search by zip

  • Issue description: zip selector brings up random locations instead of my locations?when entering a zip code, it pops up two random choices that are not our locations. Most users would view that as a mistake. If you select one of the location, it does redistribute the locations based on proximity. Any ideas?

Hi there, @M_W and welcome to the Community :waving_hand:

I see that you’ve reached out to the Support Team and received a response from our AI assistand, which is correct.

The thing is that the locations appearing in the search dropdowns are suggested by Google Places API and can’t be controlled on our end.

When you select a suggested result, the widget sends that address/ZIP to our service, which converts it to coordinates. Then the widget takes your locations and sorts them by distance to those coordinates.

Thus, the list of the suggested locations isn’t generated on by Google Places API, this is why it’s impossible to restrict the search results to the locations added to the widgets. However, we already have a request for this enhancement and you can upvote the idea here - Option to limit search results to only locations added to the map.

Please let me know if this clarifies things or if you have any questions left :slightly_smiling_face:
