Hi,

I have a question regarding the refresh rate and how content updates are handled.

Currently, I have not connected an Instagram account directly — I’ve only provided the profile URL.

Could you please clarify how the refresh works in this case?

  • Does the plugin automatically fetch and display new videos/posts?

  • Is there a periodic refresh request happening in the background? If yes, how often?

  • Or does the content not refresh unless triggered manually?

Also, is there any difference in behavior if the Instagram account is properly connected instead of just using the URL?

With the way our widget works, all posts update automatically based on the cache time - Cache Time in Social Feed.

This happens within a specific time interval because the widget uses a caching system to load faster and reduce server load. This way, it doesn’t request updates from the platform every time someone views your feed.

The cache time for Instagram sources is 48 hours (for both connection types).
