I have created this several times, trying to get a daily list we put up on instagram automatically show up on our website, but (defeating the point entirely) the widget only shows the hash tagged post from the day I last messed around with the widget and doesn’t update daily and show the newest post using that hashtag. Please help! This is why I upgraded.

The new images don’t appear right away because of the cache. Our widget uses a cache system to make everything load faster and reduce the server load.
So the posts are updated every 48 hours. You can read more about cache here: Why new posts don’t show up in my Instagram Feed widget.
I totally get your case and agree that it would be great to update the feed faster, but, unfortunately, there is no way to reduce the cache time now.
However, we already have this idea on the Wishlist and you can upvote it here - Remove or reduce cache time.
