I have 250 photos and use the gallery carousel. When a photo is clicked the popup of the image is fine but the popup controls are frozen until the photo thumbnails are loaded, which takes about 5+ seconds. The thumbnails need to be preloaded and cached please.
Hi @KoalaStamps, happy to welcome you to the community!
I see what you mean, and I’m really sorry about the inconvenience. While the images are cached in our widget, they aren’t preloaded. In fact, preloading all images isn’t ideal, as it could negatively impact the widget’s performance before it even opens. However, loading thumbnails incrementally could definitely help improve the experience.
I’ve gone ahead and created a feature request in our Wishlist on your behalf: Add partial (progressive) thumbnail loading in the popup. Hopefully, other users will find it useful too
Let me know if you have any other questions!

loading thumbnails incrementally
[/quote]Hi Helga, I think your solution to this issue is ideal, but may take ages to be available? My problem is I cannot really use the popup option of the gallery carousel as it is without leaving a negative impression with my website users. Is there a JavaScript solution that can be added in the meantime?
Hi Rod,
Unfortunately, it’s not possible to resolve this issue through JS alone — it would require changes on the widget’s side.
In fact, it’s not only our own code that needs to be refined, but a third-party library used within the widget, which makes it even more complicated to implement a fix or workaround at the moment.
I truly wish we could offer at least a temporary solution
Okay, I’ve stopped using the gallery carousel and I’m now using a competitor’s solution which is working as expected. Let me know when this is addressed please. Thanks, Rod
