Photo Gallery: Enjoy improved performance with the image lazy loading feature

Guys, we are thrilled to announce that our devs implemented a lazy loading feature for images in our Photo Gallery app :rocket:

Previously, all the photos were loaded immediately, but now they’ll be loaded gradually as needed.

What’s inside the update?

  1. Masonry, Grid and Panoramic layouts
  • New photos are loaded when the “Load More” button is clicked

  • The button now includes a loading indicator

  1. Thumbnails, Slider, and Columns layouts
  • All currently visible photos and those that will be visible when navigating forward and backward are loaded at once (buffered one step ahead)

  • In the Thumbnails layout, photos from the slider previews are also buffered

  1. No need to find the setting:
  • This feature now works automatically in all widgets
  1. Benefits and Performance:
  • Widgets now consume fewer resources and load much faster
