To enhance the user experience, it would be beneficial to have the option to set the default map view to display only the selected country upon loading. Currently, when focusing on Canada and having all clients located there, the visibility of the United States on load diminishes the user experience. Is it possible to implement a feature that allows us to show only the chosen country when the map loads? This adjustment would optimize the display and align with the user’s expectations. Thank you!
@Gerard_M This is a really cool suggestion but pretty much difficult to implement, too.
Anyway, we’ll try to take it under consideration in our future updates. I’ll keep you posted in case of any news
Hi Max,
I’m thrilled with the seamless integration of Google Maps using my Google API—thank you! I have a few inquiries and some suggestions that could significantly enhance this widget.
- Map Saving Feature:
*** Is** there a way to save the map and its contents? It would be immensely helpful, especially when dealing with a large number of locations 5,000 +. (don’t want to lose my work)
2. Default City Pin Color is Blue:. (I want to change this)
- Currently, the standard pin for searched cities is blue. I would like to be able to change this color.?
3. Default IP Location:
- Can the visitor’s IP address be used to automatically load search results on the map? This would provide users with local results by default.
4. Separate Search Box:
- I’d like to have a separate search box in the top navigation, allowing users to search from there and be directed to the page with the map results.
5. Country-Specific Display:
- Is there a workaround to make the map display only the country we have listings for?
6. More Map Styles:
- Could we have additional map styles, similar to the Free ones available on Snazzy Maps?
7. Mobile Optimization:
- On iPhones, the map needs to be larger to show the search bar at the bottom. It would be great to customize the map size for mobile without losing the search area.
8. Font Color Options:
- When adding new locations, having the ability to select a different font color in the description area would be useful. For instance, we might want to highlight 5-star ratings in yellow.
9. Linking Images in Cards:
- It would be beneficial if we could add a link to the image on the cards. This way, we could use an image that says “Make Appointment” and links directly to the appointment form.
These are some ideas for improvement; I appreciate your consideration. Let me know if any of these features are feasible.
Hi @Gerard_M
A huge thank you for sharing your ideas with us!
-
Do I understand correctly that you’d like to have an option to download the content from the widget?
-
Your pin is blue because you’ve uploaded your own pin in this color. However, if you choose the icon from the library, you’ll be able to set its Custom Color:
-
This functionality isn’t supported now, but we’ll try to consider this opportunity in our future updates. You can keep an eye on it here - Default IP Location
-
Do you want to have 2 separate searches within one widget? Or you want to separate the existing widget and move it somewhere to the top of the page?
-
As I mentioned in the previous message, unfortunately, there is no way to show only specific countries. We’ll have this idea in mind and keep you posted in this thread
-
I’ve added this idea to the Wishlist. You can keep tabs on it here - More Map Styles
-
It would be awesome if you could share a link to the page where your widget is installed. We’ll gladly check if anything can be done
-
You can change the color of the text element right in the code editor. You just need to add these attributes around the needed text:
<span style="color: yellow;">Your Rating</span>
Check it out and let me know if it helped
- I agree that it would be a great addition and we’ll try to consider this feature as well - Linking Images in Cards
Hi Max,
I hope this message finds you well. I’ve been thoroughly testing your widget along with two others to determine the best fit for our needs. Thank you for addressing my previous inquiries. I have a few additional comments / answers that I believe will greatly enhance our experience:
-
Real-Time Location Saving: I would appreciate the ability to save locations in real-time as we enter them. Considering that we have around 4,000 plus locations to input, saving them incrementally will significantly streamline the process.
-
Customization of CITY Search Pin: While I’m aware of the option to change the pins I create, I’m interested in customizing the default light blue CITY pins that appear when searching for a city. Example; Use the search box and search the city “whitby”. You will see the system’s light blue city pin. These standard city pins are not aesthetically pleasing, and it would be fantastic if we could modify their color to better align with our branding.
-
Enhanced Search Functionality: (using visitor’s ip geo location) This is a crucial feature that our competitors already offer. Users value time savings, and having the system automatically populate information can make a substantial difference. I’d like to request the capability for the system to intelligently pre-populate the user’s ip location into the map, similar to what our competitors are currently offering.
-
Separation of Search Box: To improve the user interface, I suggest having a 2nd separate search box for the map that can be placed in the nav header. (but also keeping the current search box attached to the map. This can be achieved by placing the search box in the navigation section, as demonstrated by examples such as theupsstore.ca and anytimemailbox.com.
Your attention to these matters is greatly appreciated, and I believe that these enhancements will contribute to a more user-friendly and efficient experience for our customers. Thank you for your continued support and assistance.

I am afraid I didn’t quite get this idea. At the moment, when enter the locations, they are saved in the configurator when editing. After that, to save all the added locations in the widget, you need to click on the Publish button. Do I understand correctly that you need to save the locations without necessity to click “Publish”?
-
Got it! I’ll check it with the devs and will get back to you a bit later
-
We totally understand that this functionality would enhance our app and we’ll try to consider this opportunity in our future updates.
-
I got your point, but, unfortunately, there is no option to customize your widget this way. I am so sorry! I’ve moved your idea to the Wishlist and you can keep tabs on it here - Separate Search Box
@Gerard_M I’ve talked to the devs and, unfortunately, there is no option to change the color of the city search pin. I am really sorry!
I’ve created a separate Wishlist request, where we’ll keep you updated - Customization of a city search pin
Thx Max!
- I would like to SAVE all the data we enter. To be exported or saved externally. Just would like another backup of our data in case the widget fails. Or is this already Saved in my Google Account API?
