I’d like to have a separate search box in the top navigation, allowing users to search from there and be directed to the page with the map results.
To improve the user interface, I suggest having a 2nd separate search box for the map that can be placed in the nav header. (but also keeping the current search box attached to the map. This can be achieved by placing the search box in the navigation section, as demonstrated by examples such as theupsstore.ca and anytimemailbox.com.
