Need advice on which app to use

Hi! I need advice on which app to use. I need a booking form for a guided tour. Name, contact info (email is necessary), number persons. No date, no time, since the tour will only happen once. The final message should state that registration will be confirmed by mail.

I looked at the event, appointment booking, form builder and contact form app.

Hey there, @user1921 :waving_hand:

Our Form Builder orContact Form (they have almost the same functionality) will be the best option for you.

Here you can add a Name, Email, Number of People fields and add a custom Success Message, which shows up after the form submission:

You can customize the Success Message on the Build Form tab:

Feel free to test it out and ask questions if anything comes up. We’ll be happy to help

Thanks for the fast answer! I tried the form builder and it seems to be what I need. Two issues popped up:

Can I limit the number input to a range? In my case: anything betweeen 1 and 12.

If the event reached the max number of attendees: can I show a “the event is sold out” message instead of the form?

regards and greetings from the other side of the pond

I see that you’ve used a Dropdown field, which is one of 2 possible workarounds. The 2nd solution is to use a Number Scale field, where it’s possible to set a range, but I think your solution is much better:

Currently it’s impossible to show a custom message instead of the form if the limit is reached. However, we have a similar request for the Event Calendar widget - Register right in the widget.

Users suggested adding a Register button to the Event Calendar, which opens a form with custom fields and where it’s possible to set a max number of attendees. So, I guess this idea meets your case best.

Feel free to upvote it and if it gets more votes, we’ll try to consider it in the future updates :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks again for the fast reply! I’ll stick to the drop down, since the numbers range is quite small. As for a different behavior once the max numbers of attendees is reached, I will simply add an explanation to the success message.

By the way, you can also monitor the submission number and when the limit is reached, you can easily hide the form from the website to avoid any confusion :slightly_smiling_face:
