How to embed inline Translator Widget in Website Menu

Currently the Translator widget can be “floating” (basically a sticky widget) or “inline”. However, the inline option just places it in the middle of a page.

Is there a way to embed the Translator widget into our Squarespace Main navigation menu/Header?

Hi there, @user18293

You’d like to keep it at the same position on the menu (right upper corner), but make it inline, right?

Yes, but the inline option doesn’t allow you to choose where to place it on the page…thus the challenge.

Okay! I’ve also noticed that the header menu disappears when you scroll down. Would you like it to be always displayed?

Hi Max–thanks. No, just like the menu disappears on desktop view, it would too. However, in mobile view (ideally!) it would be IN the menu.

Got it, thanks! And the final question: would you like it to be placed in the center of the header menu?

That’d be great. Thank you so much for all your help, Max- it is very appreciated.

Thank you!

I’ve passed your request to the dev team and will get back to you tomorrow :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi there, @user18293

To move the image to the header on mobile, we’ll need temporary access to your website’s backend. This article explains how you can do this -Providing access to your Squarespace website - Elfsight Help Center.

Could you please provide us with it?

Thank you, Max. That invitation has now been sent.

Thank you so much!

I’ve passed your request on to the dev team and will update you once it’s done :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi there, @user18293

Our devs have tried to customize the widget, but, unfortunately, there is no way to dynamically change the widget’s layout based on the device. I am really sorry!

The only solution is to create a separate Website Translator widget for the mobile view. So, the floating widget will be displayed on desktop, and the floating on mobile.

Could you please create the 2nd widget and let me know once it’s done? We’ll be happy to install it to the mobile version of your website :slightly_smiling_face:
