GOOGLE SEO on EVENT CALENDAR WIDGETS

I’m worried if the text we input into this EVENTS will be indexed properly by google and given same level of relevance as text on a standard wordpress page.

I also need confirmation if the text contained in the “more details” popup of each event is being indexed and read by google. Example, if you click on an event, the pop-up has a map and more info. : Embed Free Recurring Events Calendar template on Your Website

I need proof and confirmation that Google will legitimately index the events and data included in the widget that I input for the events. Using elf widget is not helping my business if the details contained on the page are not valued at the same importance and level of indexing that if I used building a page in wordpress, or within the site etc. Id like evidence to support the facts on this, as I’m seeing a lot of mixed info on this topic and mixed feedback. I’d like to see another website using an event calendar showing proof that it’s actually getting indexed in the same way if it were on the site in a traditional way.

Hi there, @Jennifer_Yosowitz

Yes, the widget adds Schema markup for each event on the website (the markup is placed next to the event card), but the rich snippet won’t be displayed in the search results.

To check if the markup works in the widget, you can add a link to the page, where the widget is installed to the rich results test.

We don’t include special markup for event popups to prevent duplicating information on the page, but the text from the event popup is still indexable.

The content displayed through the widget is just as important for search engines as regular text on the page. The widget generates HTML markup for each event, making that information part of the page. This means it’s visible to search engines and influences SEO just like any other content.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any live examples for your case, but you’re very welcome to add the widget to the test page and check it there. If something goes wrong, we’ll gladly look into this for you :slightly_smiling_face:
