Files in AI ChatBot

I can see through AI Chatbot Email Transcripts that, whenever somebody says thanks, or thank you to the Bot in response to something he has said, the Bot keeps saying I can see you have uploaded some files, how can I help you with them or something along those lines. I haven’t uploaded any files and it doesn’t give the option for users to add files so I am really confused.

Hi there, @user3920 :waving_hand:

Apologies for this inconvenience!

This is a known issue for a current language model (gpt 4 mini), which can be resolved by switching to a higher version (gpt 5-mini).

We’ve switched your widgets to the newer version and this issue shouldn’t occur anymore :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks Max,

Whilst the upgrade to better technology through GPT5 Mini is welcomed it is certainly proving difficult in managing how the bot responds, it has completely changed the theming and models that I had liked in the 4mini connection.

I understand that we have AI instructions and keep messing with those - however it appears that GPT5 mini takes things so literally that then over ride any further instructions. I am wondering if there is a back end system that Elf sight have control over AI Behaviours that we do not have access to.

I have changed the instructions several times and got to a place, where although I am not completely happy with, is bearable. However it appears the Bot is being naughty and has forgot what it has learnt and I was happy with during testing. Mainly it keeps answering everything with ‘Short Answer’. Chat GPT told me that there may be something in the back end build that says keep replies concise or short and then mini5 is takig that too literally.

Are you able to confirm?

Hi there, @user3920 :waving_hand:

After switching to GPT-5 Mini, the model might behave differently, even when given the same instructions. This happens because the new version is trained on more up-to-date data and uses a different approach to data processing.

Customizing prompts to fit your needs is a crucial part of developing a chatbot. The default behavior of the model might not match what you’re aiming for, so you can always adjust or add instructions to guide it better.

Regarding shorter answers, could you please share:

  • example of the short response

  • correct full answer the bot should provide

I’ll be happy to discuss it with the devs and help you find a prompt to resolve this issue :slightly_smiling_face:
