Event Calendar: [MAJOR UPDATE] New filter design, tag filter, search bar and more! đŸ”„

It’s been a busy time for our devs, and we’ve got another awesome update to share!

This one’s all about the Event Calendar, with some fresh features we know you’ve been patiently waiting for :rocket:

What’s inside the update?

Revamped filter design

We’ve updated the filter design. All filter settings are now conveniently located under the new Filters tab:

Plus, we’ve added a new Popup filter display, while keeping the original Inline view for your preference:

Tag filter

You can now filter events by tags! The Tag filter gives your website visitors more flexibility and precision when searching events by specific topic or category:

Additionally, you can change the name of this filter to use it for any custom purposes:

Select multiple filter options right away

Before, only one option could be selected for each filter. Now, you can select multiple options —whatever works best for you:

Add multiple attributes for one pre-selected filter

Our Event Calendar app lets you select certain filter by default. Previously, only one filter option could be pre-selected, but now you can choose multiple options for a single filter, such as different event types, all at once.

Moreover, You can now also pre-select tags and search queries using these parameters:

Assign multiple event types/venues/hosts to one event

You asked, and we listened! Now, for any event, you can assign as many Event Types, Locations, or Hosts as you need—all at once. This flexibility gives you more control over event management:

Search bar

With the new search bar, you can quickly locate events by name or filter criteria, making it faster and more efficient to find exactly what you’re looking for.

You can enable it on the Filters tab of your widget’s settings:

Max:

I have been requesting many of these changes since I started using elfsight. Much needed! These are game
changers my friend! Only other request I would add is the ability to name the title for the event menu.

Currently it is hard coded and titled as “Event Type”. I can see that many, like myself would want to change this
title to denote the specific events we inform about or market.

For example, since I use my to list running events or races I would love to rename that header field “Race Distances”
or “Running Events”.

You guys add the ability to do that and this is a near perfect product.

Thanks again!

Guys, there’s a problem with this update. When I make a filter for a specific franchise and start editing the calendar, the filter is RESET!!! There was no such thing before the update: then you could see the list with a filter and edit events. Now you can’t do that (( I’m attaching the video.

Hey there, @Michael40 :waving_hand:

We are so happy that this update brought you the features you needed! Thanks a ton for the feedback

Regarding the filter names, glad to say that you can easily edit them right in the widget’s settings. For this, you should go to the Edit Texts section on the Settings tab and replace the default filter names with the custom ones :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi there, @Tender_S :waving_hand:

Thank you for your question!

I’ve consulted with the devs, and they’ve confirmed that it’s a correct behavior. The thing is that once you edit the event, the whole calendar is updated, that’s why the filters are reset.

Please let me know if this explains things or if you have any further questions :slightly_smiling_face:

Ehhh, in my case it became inconvenient (
Not critical, of course, but still.

Please let me explain the reasoning behind this change.

Previously, if you applied a filter for a specific event type, then changed, for example, the event type of a particular event, the change wouldn’t show up in the calendar. This could be confusing for users. To avoid this, if the new event type no longer matches the chosen filter, we decided to still display it, even though it might seem a bit inconsistent.

I hope that clears things up!

However, I completely get your perspective, and you’re welcome to add it to the Wishlist. If more users support this opinion, we’ll try to consider it in the future :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi there and welcome aboard, @Anil_Rajkumar :waving_hand:

Thanks a bunch for the feedback!

I’ve checked your widget and see that you haven’t added any event types/hosts/venues to the widget:

Please add event types/hosts/venues to your widget, assign them to events and enable the needed filter on the Filters tab:
