Provide businesses with options to choose from for the Product markup types, thus eliminating the errors/warnings in Google Search Console
Folks, our former Wishlist portal, where our users shared their requests and suggestions, was transferred to this forum. You’re most welcome to vote, add new ideas, and leave your comments here — we surely will consider them all! ![]()

I’m a long-time user of your Google Reviews widget and appreciate the seamless design and ease of use. I’m reaching out to request an important enhancement related to structured data.
Currently, the widget injects Product schema by default, which creates SEO conflicts when embedding the widget on non-product pages — particularly for local service businesses like mine. Google detects this as a Product rich snippet, which is incorrect for service pages and may impact structured data accuracy or even search visibility.
Feature Request:
Please add a setting that allows users to:
- Toggle schema injection on/off
- Choose or customize the @type used (e.g., LocalBusiness, Service, MotorcycleRepair, or Organization instead of Product)
This would enable your widget to better serve a broader range of business types beyond e-commerce and allow alignment with Google’s structured data guidelines.
Happy to provide examples or test the feature if you’re exploring a beta.
Thanks for considering!
Hey there, @Stephen_Burns ![]()
Many thanks for such a detailed feedback!
Currently, it’s impossible to change the markup type, but we have this idea on the Wishlist. I’ve merged your comment with this idea too.
As for the toggle to disable/enable the markup, this option is available in the widget. You can find it in the Schema.org section on the Settings tab ![]()
Also voting for this because the existing functionality is just inaccurate. It is pulling the site’s rating and review information, but including in the snippet markup as part of a Product, which is objectively is not. It should be including as an Organization or something similar, but Product is just wrong. Sad to see that this glaring bug has been open for 4+ years with no movement.
I absolutely get your point and we’ll try to think about this option in the future, especially if more users support this request.
Thanks for upvoting the idea and yes, welcome to the Community ![]()
Friends, we think it’s worth mentioning that the Product markup was intentionally used in the widget because it’s the only one that can appear in the Google snippet in search results. Other types of markup won’t work there ![]()
I also operate a local business and would like to implement the recommendations suggested by Stephen Burns to ensure compliance.
