Easiest way to add Google reviews to website

Hi guys :waving_hand:
We recently dug into embedding Google reviews on a website, and it got me thinking:

  • Everyone says reviews boost trust – but adding them doesn’t always make a difference
  • Reviews add constantly updating, real-user content
  • But they also take attention away from your core messaging

So here’s the question:

Do you think “adding reviews = higher trust” is overrated? (or is it still working for you?)

Curious what you’ve seen in practice, especially if you’ve tested both setups! :high_voltage:

I still think they help, some people literally come in already referencing stuff they read in our reviews.

At the same time, having only perfect polished reviews is def a trust killer – those just seem fake. As a consumer, I look up worst reviews first

That’s interesting – basically word-of-mouth at scale :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I agree. When a company has zero negative reviews, it can feel suspicious. I think having a few mixed ones that list pros and cons is fine.

And more importantly, I think a genuine, helpful response to negative feedback from the seller/service provider can sometimes make up for the flaws.

Hi @Kristina hi there,

If you do it right, and above all, HONESTLY, then reviews are very valuable. They’re crucial for customer acquisition and retention. We actively collect reviews face-to-face in my store, directly at the checkout. Of course, only from the happier customers. This way, I have genuine and authentic reviews, to which I respond promptly and express my gratitude. As a result, I always get a lot of written feedback, meaning customers take the time to share their experiences. Just a few stars without any comment are very rare.

Quality over quantity.

…and thanks to the Elfsight widget, I can show it off on my website! :upside_down_face:

Given your dedication to everything you do, @Sina, there’s no surprise you have lots of happy customers

You also said you make sure to reply to every review, and I must say it’s a great gesture that sometimes gets neglected by companies. As a customer, I ALWAYS check responses from a company to “check out the vibe”, and oftentimes it speaks volumes :+1:t2:
