Custom Widget Request: Notices, Reports, and Developer Contact

Hello, good day.

I would like to kindly request your assistance in developing (or confirming the possibility of creating) a custom widget with the following general features:

:pushpin: Placement and Design

  • A floating icon that can be placed in the top-right corner of the website, or any other desired location on the site.
  • The icon should be customizable (e.g., a default exclamation mark “!”), with the option to change it to a different symbol if needed.
  • When users hover over or click the icon, a floating panel or modal should appear, revealing various interactive options.

:gear: Desired Features

This widget would serve as a centralized place for visitors to interact with the website developer and access helpful site-related information. The ideal features include:

  1. Displaying the name, logo, or short description of the site developer.
  2. A quick way to contact the developer (via email, WhatsApp, or other channels).
  3. An option to report issues or bugs found on the website.
  4. A section to send feedback or suggestions.
  5. A comment section where users can:
  • Write freely
  • Attach images
  • Take or upload screenshots of the site
  1. All submitted messages should be automatically sent to an email address configured by the site owner.
  2. Display the current version of the website.
  3. Show the date of the last update.
  4. Present important notices, such as:
  • Scheduled maintenance
  • Known technical issues
  • Legal updates or cookie usage notices
  1. Optionally display a brief changelog or update history.
  2. (Optional) Let users submit a quick rating (e.g., 1–5 stars).
  3. (Optional) Provide a download link to the developer’s digital card or portfolio.

:white_check_mark: Modular Flexibility

All of the above features should ideally be modular, meaning the site admin can enable or disable each feature as needed.

I would sincerely appreciate your guidance on whether this widget can be created using Elfsight’s tools, or if you offer a similar widget that can be adapted to meet these requirements.

Thank you very much for your time and support.

Best regards.

Hi there, @Abel_Navarro :waving_hand:

Many thanks for such a detailed description of your idea!

Given the wide range of features required, I am afraid, it would be hard to combine them all in one widget.

However, you can use several different widgets to implement a specific range of functionalities.

This can be done with our All-in-One Chat app. Here you can:

  • Upload a custom bubble icon

  • Change bubble position

  • Add the needed contacts like WhatsApp, Email, phone number etc

  • Add company name and logo

This should be done with our Comments widget, which we’re currently working on. Please upvote this idea to receive a notification once it’s released.

And for this case, you’ll need something like a Status page widget. Please upvote this idea if you’d like it to be released :slightly_smiling_face:

As a workaround, you can use our Banner widget to showcase the info about scheduled maintenance, technical issues, etc.

Please let me know if this explains things or if you have any questions left.

Thank you for your response.

You’re right — after thinking it through, I realized I got a bit carried away with the original idea.

To clarify, what I actually need is much simpler:

:wrench: Final Widget Idea:

  • A small floating icon (preferably a customizable “exclamation mark (!)” that can be placed in the “top-right corner” or a"nywhere on the site".
  • When clicked, it should open a very simple panel or form where the user can:
    • Write a quick comment (to report a bug or give feedback)
    • (Optional but ideal) Attach or take a screenshot of the current page
  • The submitted message should be automatically sent to a configured email address.

That’s all I really need.
It’s a small but powerful tool for anyone managing multiple websites, as it allows direct and contextual feedback from users.

If any of your existing widgets can be adapted to do this, I’d love to know which one you’d recommend.

Thanks again for your time and support!

Best regards,

Our Form Builder app should work great for this case.

You should choose the Floating Pane layout and enable Pane Reopen button:

Here you can upload a custom icon for the Reopen button and change its position:

To let users inform you about bugs and attach files, you’ll need File and Long Text fields:

The submissions will be delivered to the email address added to the Notify Me section on the Email tab:

Please check it out and let me know if it worked :slightly_smiling_face:
