I would like the ability to be able to offer a discount code TEXT entry box to clients, I currently do this as a work around by using a number field, formulated to discount if the number is for example less than 1,000 and more than 998, so the discount applies when 999 is entered etc. However i’d rather a more professional approach of a text box entry was available to be able to enter a specific name ie BLACKFRIDAY so I could formulate that box/field for a specific %discount.

Great idea, thanks for sharing! We’ll have it in mind and see for more feedback from the community 
We also have a request for the Text field, which might be a nice alternative to the Discount/Coupon field. It got more votes and has higher chances for consideration.

We already have such a request on the Wishlist, and I’ve merged your comment with it. If this idea gets more traction with other users, we’ll try to consider it in the future updates
