Please add a text field to the Calculator widget.

Thanks for the suggestion! We’ll keep an eye on how popular it gets ![]()
This would be great for creating discount fields!![]()
As we continue developing a multi-step calculator, this step becomes more important. It would be beneficial to already request personal information during one of the earlier steps. This approach helps to reduce the number of input fields at the final stage, improving the overall user experience.
Hi everyone!
We’ve been going through Wishlist ideas and noticed that this request has received a lot of support from the Community.
Before we move forward, we want to make sure we fully understand your needs, so we have a few questions:
How do you plan to use the Text field in your Calculator?
Should it be used in calculations? If yes, how exactly?
You’ve also mentioned using the Text field to create discounts. Would the Coupon field applied to the results work for your case instead? (A similar idea is described in this request.
Any additional details, examples, or use cases you can share would be really helpful for us to understand the best way to implement this feature ![]()
(1) the text would be used as a prompt for a discount, as an example if 20OFF was typed you could stipulate in a separate calculation field IF 20OFF is entered apply 20% discount.
(2) It should be used in the calculations for the reason above
(3) I’m not sure what you mean would the coupon field applied to the results work for your case instead? If it works as above then I’d say yes.
(4) whilst replying any news on the form element of the calculator having conditional formatting added as this is more of a priority for me as I use a numeric field for the discount currently as a work around to apply a discount.
Hi there, @Darryl ![]()
Got your point, thanks for sharing!
Regarding the conditional logic for the form fields, we’ve scheduled that for the end of Q3. We’ll make sure to keep you updated on the progress ![]()
