  1. Bali :indonesia: This region of Indonesia is a tropical paradise!
    Reasons
Scenery: Bali’s scenery is stunning and diverse, with lush landscapes, beautiful temples, and coastal cliffs. In fact, the Tanah Lot Temple is an iconic figure of Bali and looks like it’s a goddess floating in heaven!

Weather: Experience a warm, tropical climate all year round. There’s no need to worry about snowstorms or tornadoes! But do be prepared for some intense heat.

These are my reasons on my you should visit Bali. As a person who visits it annually in the summer, it’s a great place to galli!

There’s only one place magical enough for the Elfsight birthday party: the Dark Hedges in Northern Ireland. It’s got that eerie, otherworldly vibe — part ancient fairy tale, part Game of Thrones. Local legends say it’s one of the gateways to the realm of the “Sídhe” – the old Celtic elves. Think misty trees, hidden paths, and the kind of place where Legolas might casually stroll by. Throw in some live music and a whiskey toast at a cozy Irish pub, and it’s basically Elfsight coming home. Most of all – it’s your best chance to get sight of an actual elf.

Elfsight should celebrate its 13th birthday in Torres del Paine National Park in Chilean Patagonia, a place so awe-inspiring it doesn’t feel real.

I had the chance to hike the W Trek there in 2020 (right before the world shut down!), and to this day, it remains one of the most breathtakingly scenic places I’ve ever experienced. Glacial valleys, turquoise lakes, hanging glaciers, and jagged granite towers surround you at every turn. It’s the kind of landscape that shifts your perspective.

The team could stay at Hotel Las Torres for a more comfortable base with stunning views just steps away. Or, if the team is feeling adventurous, hike between the refugios along the W route. These are rustic mountain lodges tucked into some of the most jaw-dropping terrain on Earth. Either way, there’s nothing like bonding around a fire after a day of exploring one of the wildest places imaginable.

Elfsight builds tools that connect people across the globe. Why not celebrate 13 years by going to the edge of it?

PS. You can catch a glimpse of it in the background of my profile photo!

Hi Elfsight Team :beating_heart:
It took me a while to come up with something for your 13th birthday. Looking at your recent trips, you’re certainly not the kind of cultural explorer who wouldn’t want to venture into the cold latitudes of our world.
I have something. I was there myself a few years ago. A deserted island? Yes, it is. But it also has a lot to offer.
After Egypt and Turkey, this destination only expands the target area a bit, but it brings you many new people and impressions.

Summarized with a little Elfsight photo widget.

Have fun

I’ve also been on the jet boat from Novalja. Exciting :flexed_biceps:

Armenia. Your company is from Armenia and Armenia is a very special country. Unfortunately, I have only been there once, in 1987, and this country made a deep impression on me. Especially (but not only) the architecture of the Armenian churches and the religious center of Echmiadzin, and of course the very special hospitality. We also visited a friend from university, had a fantastic view of Mount Ararat and two rabbits were slaughtered on our arrival. Armenian brandy is also second to none. There was so much to discover in Armenia and this vacation remains a special memory for me even today, almost 40 years later. Another special feature of Armenia is that there are more Armenians outside Armenia than in Armenia.

I guess it really depends on the kind of people you’re hoping to gather. Scanning through the comments, I’m starting to think I might be the only American here. While all these places sound fun and fascinating, there are so many directions to take, and naturally, people will have their likes and dislikes. It also comes down to the kind of activities this gathering would have.

Given the nature of the job, I’m assuming there are quite a few tech enthusiasts and fellow nerds like me. So, just throwing an idea out there—how about reserving a private room at Comic-Con?

Lucky 13 in the French Riviera sounds like the right choice to me.
Here are suggested experiences for your itinerary:

  1. There’s something for everyone at Casino Monte Carlo what better way to kick off a celebration of Lucky 13 than a little gambling. There’s so much to see and do on this property including the world famous opera house on site with programs year round.

  2. Book a driving experience for the team at the Paul Ricard circuit, where the French F1 Grand Prix is held. They offer options for teams to drive Formula 3, Ferraris, Porsches, and more.

  3. Next a day on the water with a yacht or with a catamaran experience, we rented the Lagoon 570 for our group and many great memories were made. Highly recommend trying the e-foils as well, electric surf boards that hover over the water, unique and exciting, oddly serene

  4. For some nighttime entertainment, head over to Equivoque, they have an amazing rooftop terrace with panoramic views and a unique list of cocktail options called the “Perfume Menu” created by the popular master perfumers. This is a very specific experience only available here.

  5. If you decide to stop at the Monaco Oceanographic Museum in Monaco, they have a special interactive exhibit called ImmerSEAve that uses virtual reality to let you look around and explore what is under the water, just off the coast. It’s a very well done experience.

  6. Right next door to the Oceanographic Museum we went to an outdoor theater called Monaco Open Air Cinema with comfortable seating and showing new movies and old ones as well, depending on when you go. I saw some special suites where groups were able to attend with private areas that had special catering and seating. It’s a great place to sample local desserts too.

  7. The Astrorama Park is an amazing night time activity where visitors can use binoculars and telescope or just gaze with the naked eye at the amazing night sky.

  8. We also did a guided tasting tour, it was a 4-hour chauffeured tour of the culinary specialities of Provence. This was less “fancy” and more local which we loved, and it can be done in a bus or in small groups allowing people to stop and start from place to place at different times. It’s not on the beaten path, this is something that made our trip really stand out.

  9. There’s a very cool local haunt in Monte Carlo called Bar Duke with live music and good food/drink, they feature local musicians and we loved hearing the local sound.

  10. French baking lessons as a group or for small groups. I know that Chef Marcel Ravin and his staff at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort offer classes as part of their “Spice up your Talent” program, focusing on both savory and sweet dishes. My daughter is a baker so we took a baking class with a local chef in her own restaurant and that was lovely as well.

  11. You have to go to the beach, right? We spent a day in a far off spot away from all the tourist crowds, Plage Petite Afrique is on the eastern end of Beaulieu-sur-Mer, but there are more popularted spots to consider as well if you like the see and be seen vibe, like Èze Beach.

  12. For photo ops and making memories, there is a very nice spot at Plage de Passable (Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat) with views of the Bay of Villefranche and a beachfront lounge, perfect for enjoying an epic sunset - it can be romantic (it was to us) but it can also just be really beautiful and life affirming for a great team. Great photo op for sure.

  13. Last but not least, wine! We were strapped for time so we stopped in at [the wine cellars at HÎtel de Paris The hotel is a famous landmark, but the wine cellars are the hidden gem. They were built by Marie Blanc, wife of François Blanc, the founder of the Monte Carlo Casino. Worth a stop and a sip.

I’m Dutch and travelled a bit around the world, from US to Algeria, the whole of Europe except Greenland, visited 11 islands in Indonesia, spent weeks in China, and more. When thinking about my travels to the European Nordic Countries, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark (didn’t visit Iceland), I always have the Lofoten Islands in mind. An awesome group of island that are incredibly beautiful in many aspects.

1/ Nature: Lofoten has (almost) ‘everything’, it has North Pole-like Artic landscapes, including mountains popping out from the sea, Mauritius like turquoise water in fjords, white sandy beaches like in the Caribbean. The mountains are very hikable and have awesome panoramic views

2/ The archipelago consists of many small islands connected by fjords and surrounded by the Barents Sea, with a milder climate due to the Gulf Stream. There’s rich marine life and a historic cod fishery that has shaped the region’s culture and economy.

3/ Small Fishing Villages and Local Culture : visit old villages with colorful houses and active fishing harbors, reflecting the traditional way of life. The locals are known for being warm and welcoming.

4/ Different activities : Lofoten offers a wide range of activities year-round, including hiking, sea kayaking, fishing adventures, white-tailed eagle safaris, surfing, whale watching, and cultural experiences like Viking museums and art galleries

5/ Midnight Sun in summer and the Northern Lights from September to April (did not see this!)

6/ Rich Food Culture: The local cuisine includes authentic fresh, natural ingredients from the sea and land, such as cod, lamb, cheese, and herbs

7/ Art and History: Lofoten has a cultural scene with galleries, museums, and a strong artistic heritage inspired by its dramatic landscapes and Viking history (Watch ‘Vikings’ on Netflix before visiting!)

8/ And most importantly, a peaceful atmosphere: escape every day life and enjoy Lofoten’s clean air, natural surroundings, and the feeling of being close to the elements deeply rejuvenating and relaxing.

Yes, this sounds like a tourist brochure

NEPAL of course!

The highest place on Earth always serves as the most memorable backdrop to a bonding experience like no other.

The Himalayas have so much adventure to offer from hikes/treks in the mountains to white-water rafting.

If you aren’t already in awe of the grandeur of Mt. Everest then the southern plains (Terai) of Nepal in contrast offer incredible wildlife adventure with jungle safaris. 13 is not an unlucky number out here in Nepal so perhaps the 13th anniversary might even bring enough luck to spot a Bengal Tiger in the wild.

An amalgamation of religions and ethnic groups offers a culture immersion that give the people of Nepal such a special place in the hearts of those who visit us. Witness the beautiful harmony of different cultures from the deep-rooted Buddhist traditions in the mountains to the age-old temple architectures in the cities derived from the Hindu beliefs.

Top it all off with a splash of luxury and leisure at The Terraces Resort (an enthousiastic customer of Elfsight) on the hills of Kathmandu Valley which overlooks the entire Himalayan range and the incredible city lights.

There is something for everybody and for every season in the heart of the Himalayas.
No better place than Nepal.
